Language school Cairo, International House – ILI

Our partner school is located in El Sahafeyeen, a quiet central residential neighbourhood in the west of Cairo. As well as language classrooms, you will find a computer school, an international book store, a restaurant, a student social room and a pedagogic library. The school was established in 1977, and is affiliated to International House, an organisation of worldwide quality language schools. It distinguishes itself from other language education programmes of the Arab world by combining a contemporary methodological approach (everyday and media Arabic) with classical language teaching (literary and Koranic Arabic).This combination allows you to study the functional elements of the language as well as learning about its origins.

Residence

Our partner school, ILI, proposes accommodation is a student residence. Located only 10 minutes by car from the school, the ILI Dokki residence includes 26 single bedrooms and 5 apartments of 3 to 5 bedrooms. Twice a day, a shuttle bus makes the journeys to the school. The kitchen and lounge are also to be shared with the other residents. This is the perfect chance to meet the other international students and to make new friends! The residence is equipped with a Internet access as well as a television and a washing machine.

Hotel / Shared apartment
The school doesn’t offer host family accommodation but has shared apartments where you can stay in a single room with shared kitchen and bathroom. The first two nights in Cairo you will stay in a hotel, giving you time to contact the school’s accommodation service, visit apartments and choose the most appropriate for you. This type of accommodation gives you the opportunity to live with other students and to enjoy your independence in a city that never sleeps. It is also possible to stay in a hotel and the school offers a range of well-priced options.

The school organizes a range of social activities where you can enlarge your cultural knowledge by participating in conferences, guided tours and local nightlife or discover the secret tastes of Egyptian gastronomy. Cairo is full of historical sites to visit after class. The school also organizes monthly excursions with professional guides, and can help you arrange your own trips.
