This historic building, combined with the other more modern buildings that surround it, complete the campus. The school has 32 comfortable and very well-equipped classrooms, a study centre, a learning resources centre, 2 computer rooms with Internet and WiFi access, a student lounge with a view over the river, a large library, an excellent restaurant/cafeteria, free parking, sports fields and wheelchair access. Accommodation

Host family
The host families, carefully selected by our partner school, are located a maximum of 30 minutes away from the school. Staying in a single room with half board during the week and full board at weekends or full board throughout the week, you will share the daily life and experiences of your host family whilst practising your English in a convivial and welcoming atmosphere.

Residence «University Mansion»
On the same site as the school, a magnificent building was built in 2000 in order to welcome students from throughout the world in optimal conditions. The residence proposes well-equipped single, double or triple rooms, each with a kitchenette, bathroom with shower and television. The residents also have a large fitness room at their disposal. The city centre can be easily reached in a few minutes by public transport (bus stop in front of the campus entrance and ferry is 2 minutes' walk away). The residence has 170 bedrooms for Australian and international students, which favours a multicultural atmosphere. Several apartments overlook the Brisbane River and offer an uninterrupted view of the city.

Leisure

The school offers a sports program that is based directly on the grassy areas within the campus or nearby. Social and cultural activities are also proposed, such as a cooking club or film screenings in the school, and outings and excursions are organised regularly. Brisbane is close to numerous other places of interest such as the Gold Coast, Surfers Paradise, Byron Bay or Fraser Island, just to name a few. The school will help you to organise weekend excursions.

Testimonial

Jens Tiemann I am from a small city in Germany therefore living in Brisbane is a wonderful experience. I came to Australia to improve my English preparing for my university studies and to explore interesting places. I really appreciate the beautiful environment of Shafston and the weather conditions of Brisbane. The magnificent riverfront campus is only 5 minutes from the city centre with public transport, and I love to travel with the unique “City Cat” on the Brisbane River. Studying in small classes and with friendly, helpful teachers, it is more than I expected.
