Our partner school Langports is located in the heart of the Gold Coast, at the gateway to the shopping district, easily accessed by public transport and with restaurants and entertainment venues right nearby. Occupying its own 4-storey building with a terrace and garden, this language school has modern and well-equipped classrooms, a multimedia centre as well as free Internet and WiFi access. During breaks or after classes, you can enjoy the games room with your classmates or prepare yourself a snack in the fully equipped kitchen provided for students. Would you like to escape from the city? In less than 2 minutes’ walk you will find yourself on one of Australia’s most famous beaches, Surfers Paradise.

Courses

Our partner school on the Gold Coast has designed a study program especially adapted to long-term stays and to the particular needs of each student according to his or her level. Students come from all four corners of the globe, with different linguistic skills and specific expectations; classes are always divided by levels. In fact, on the day of arrival, students sit a series of 6 tests to determine their general English level, and also their specific level of competence in the following areas: writing, reading, listening and speaking. Say, for example, that you have a good level of written English but are weaker at speaking. You would then be placed in, say, a level 4 class for general lessons (‘Use of English’), but a higher level class for writing (for example, 5 in ‘Focus Writing’ and 6 in ‘Focus Reading’), and in lower level classes for oral skills (for example, 2 in ‘Focus Listening’ and 3 in ‘Focus Speaking’).

Accomodation

Host family
This accommodation option will allow you to discover the Australian way of life, to practise English daily in a motivating atmosphere and to get the most out of your stay on Queensland’s Gold Coast. The families are chosen with care by our partner school and are located about 30-40 minutes from the school itself. Students stay in single rooms, with half-board provided during the week and full board on the weekends, and the host family will take care of your laundry.
You also have the possibility of living in a “room-stay” situation, that is, in a host family but without meals or laundry service provided and generally with several other students.

Leisure

A visit to the west coast is a dream opportunity to discover the many assets of the world’s largest island. Brisbane, Byron Bay or Fraser Island, to name just a few, are only a few kilometres from the Gold Coast. A staff member at the school is specially designated to look after the organisation of a program of sports and cultural activities, some free or at reduced prices, both during the week and on weekends. This staff member is also available to help you to organise your own leisure time projects.
