In the school, the CAE preparation courses were challenging, the teachers were very good, the atmosphere excellent, and the students came from the whole world. Staying with a host family is really the best way to be sure to speak English and improve your skills, since you can talk about everything, otherwise they were very friendly so I felt like at home. Sydney, the best spot ever, is a bustling city, there is always something to see, do, or places to visit whether during the week or in the weekend, different neighbourhoods with different cultures, many beaches located only 30 minutes away from the town centre.

Before I left for my language course, I asked myself many questions. What city? What course? What accommodation option? After discussing it with my friends and with an ESL consultant, I chose Australia!
So I went to Sydney to take a 3-month “natural English” course at the ELC school. It was the first time I was actually happy to go to school in the morning, the lessons were very interesting, the teacher was exceptional and my classmates were great! Through the school, I met many people of different nationalities and from different backgrounds with whom I had a great time and I learned a lot…
Regarding accommodation, I stayed in a student residence for a month, and once again it was great! As soon as I arrived, I met my roommates, who were of different nationalities, and I immediately felt comfortable because, even though we all had a different level of English, we could understand each other very well.
In the student residence, I learnt not to be embarrassed when speaking English because all of the students there went to the same school as me and attended the same type of courses as me.
About Sydney… The city is just huge! There are so many things to do and see that I never got bored! There are students all over the place, you meet lots of people everywhere and it is a great place for going out!

Sydney is a fantastic city for an English course! The atmosphere in the city is thrilling and the nearby beaches are amazing. I really enjoyed staying at the ELC student House, where you can meet many people from all over the world. What’s more, it is very close to the school.
For me, ELC is one of the best language schools in Australia. From the first day onwards, I felt comfortable there. The staff is really friendly and always available. I also liked the Cambridge course: my teacher was great and the lessons were very interesting. I significantly improved my English.
My “Aussie” experience will remain one of the greatest things in my life, forever engraved on my memory! I can say that I am really happy I met such friendly people and made such rapid progress in English!

I had already been to Australia but I wanted to visit Sydney and as this destination was eligible for a scholarship, I quite naturally decided to go there.

When I arrived, I met my “Australian mother”, who was very friendly. She showed me around the house and told me to make myself comfortable. I took a shower and I went straight to bed because I had been travelling for two days already. Another girl, who attended the same school as me, was also staying at my host mother’s place. She took me to the school on the first day and told me where I could buy my bus pass. The school is great, even more beautiful than what I had imagined, and there were people from the whole world, including from the UAE, Venezuela, Italy, etc. The teachers are very friendly, they don’t have any weird accent and they are very helpful. Besides, there is a street in Sydney where there are many Spanish restaurants (Liverpool Street).

My stay went by really fast because I always had a lot to do. I visited museums, parks; I went to parties with people I had just met. In short: I fell in love with Sydney. I strongly recommend this city, there is no pollution here, the country scrupulously respects the Kyoto protocol and the urban transportation system is widely used.

I would not trade this experience for anything else in the world and I encourage everyone to travel to this absolutely amazing country waiting to be discovered!

Sydney is a beautiful town where there’s a lot to do! Beach outings, museums visits, parks, monuments, excursions, etc. It is a magical town, where people are very welcoming and the atmosphere is buzzing!

The ELC school is very well located and all around you can find restaurants, shops, shopping centres, bars, metro/bus stations. The school in itself is very good, the lessons are taught in very good conditions and by great teachers. The school offers optional activities every week (some are free some are at an additional charge). A study room and a computer room are available to students during the school’s opening hours, which is very useful. The accommodation in the ELC residence was perfect! It is located 15 minutes’ walking distance from the school and it is close to Darling Harbour, so I could enjoy wonderful fireworks every Saturday if I walked to the harbour. Plenty of restaurants, nightclubs, bars as well as the Aquarium of Sydney or the Chinese Garden, are located close-by.
