This friendly and convivial school is ideally located in the town centre, just steps from the Maritime Museum, the station, the city library and close to a beautiful Victorian garden. This central location is served by many bus routes and offers students many pubs and shops close-by.
The school is characterized by a great nationality mix: more than 40 nationalities from the 5 continents are represented to provide a truly international environment.
The highly qualified teaching staff is attentive to the needs of each student and offers them courses adapted to their expectations. The school has 7 classrooms in a large historical building in Aberdeen’s main street. After the English classes, the students have access to a computer lab with internet-ready computers, books and magazines. In the large student lounge, students can use the Wi-Fi connection free of charge and have lunch, unless they would prefer to eat in one of the numerous surrounding cafés and restaurants.

Host family
To surround yourself with the English language and Scottish culture, our partner school offers host family accommodation. Choose from single room accommodation with half board or breakfast only. You can also choose the private bathroom option at an extra charge. The families are all located near the town centre and it will take you approximately 25 minutes with public transports to go to the school.

LIBERTY LIVING Residence, Don Street (available throughout the year, minimum duration: 5 weeks)
This comfortable student residence operates on a year-round basis. It is located in the heart of Aberdeen's historical centre and offers single rooms in 4- or 6-bed apartments. This is a great way to enjoy independent living while being integrated into a community of international students. The flatmates share 2 bathrooms, the kitchen and the communal living room of the apartment. Just steps from Kings Street, the residence is located 10 to 15 minutes' away from the town centre by bus. A laundry room is available and weekly housekeeping (in communal areas only) is included. Bedlinen and towels are not provided but a bedding pack can be purchased for £25 on arrival. Students are responsible for washing their own bedding and keeping their rooms tidy and clean. Internet access is available in the building and the simple yet functional furnishings of the rooms create an atmosphere that is conducive to studying. In the communal kitchen, you will find everything you need to prepare your meals together with the other participants and in the living room, you will make use of the television to watch TV shows – in English of course!

UNITE Residence, Spring Gardens (available from 01/07 until 24/08 - from 18 years)
The UNITE residence is located a 10-minute walk from the school and close to shops, supermarkets, bars and nightclubs. It hosts students throughout the year and makes rooms available for IH Aberdeen's students in summer. The residence offers single room accommodation in apartments shared by 5 or 6 students, which include 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and a comfortable living room. High-speed Internet access and laundry facilities are available free of charge. Bedlinen is provided.

LIBERTY LIVING Residence , Rosemount (available from 30/06 until 01/09 - from 18 years)
For those who wish to live independently, the school also offers accommodation at the Liberty Living residence, which is located around 10 minutes' walk from the course centre. The single rooms include a private bathroom and private toilets in 3-, 4- or 7-bedroom apartments equipped with a shared kitchen and living room. High-speed Internet access is available free of charge and residents have access to laundry facilities inside the building. Bedlinen and towels are not provided but a bedding pack can be purchased for £25 on arrival. Prices and information on request.

Please note: for the UNITE Residence, Spring Gardens and the LIBERTY LIVING Residence, Rosemount, all students are required to share cleaning duties and are responsible for washing their own bedlinen, as housekeeping is not provided.

You will not get bored in Aberdeen. Enjoy the pubs, museums, concerts and many dance, music and drama festivals … You need to take part in a Ceilidh, a traditional Scottish dance festival - a great way to meet local people and warm up in winter! Aberdeen is also a paradise for outdoor activities: hiking, golf, mountain biking and kitesurfing are on offer.

Our partner school offers excursions at weekends, such as tours in the old town, visits of the most beautiful castles and Whisky distilleries in the highlands. It also organises international food parties with dishes prepared by students from the school as well as sports activities such as football, bowling or golf.
