Accommodation

Host family
Staying with a host family is certainly the ideal means of combining English culture with the practice of the language. This option, chosen by the majority of students, will allow you to make the most out of your stay. You will gain ease and confidence by using the language you have learned in class in real-life situations and in a friendly environment. All of the families are selected with care by our partner school. Manchester, being a multicultural city par excellence, offers the possibility to students to stay with suitable families regarding special meals (Halal, Kosher...). You will stay in a single room with half board provided, around 30 minutes by public transport away from the school. Prices and information on request.

John Lester Court, from 18 years
The residence offered by our partner school is located within the University of Salford, some 10 minutes away by bus from the course centre and close to the Salford Shopping City. In an apartment with 4 single rooms, you will share the bathroom with your flatmates from the four corners of the globe. A fully equipped kitchen will allow you to prepare your meals. A student lounge is at your disposal and in another room, you will find vending machines for snacks and drinks as well as a television. The residence facilities also include a laundry room, unlimited Internet access, a sports pitch as well as a gym.

Leisure

The school goes out of its way to help students get the most out of the delights that this city has to offer. A staff member organises social activities and will answer all your questions. Activities include trips to the pub or the theatre, meals out and parties, or an excursion to the Lake District, for example. There is something to suit all tastes and budgets.

Testimonial

Axel Robadey If I was somewhat apprehensive before I left, all my fears vanished once I set foot on the English territory. I couldn’t have dreamt of a better welcome from my host family and my first impression about them was confirmed later on. Very friendly, extremely hospitable, caring and flexible. I felt right at home!
As for the city itself, it is magnificent! As I was exploring it, I was satisfied and convinced that I had made the right choice. The town centre is relatively big but allows easy access to all necessary amenities since everything is at walking distance. Generally speaking, the atmosphere in Manchester is unique with a north area consisting of peaceful residential suburbs and a more industrial south area with a modern design.
Regarding the school, I can only recommend it to anyone wishing to learn or improve their English. As far as I am concerned, I felt I was making progress at a very fast pace. On the one hand thanks to the quality of the teaching, which was varied and allowed for individual attention from the teachers, on the other hand thanks to the easy contact with the other students (younger and older) who came from all over the world. The administration and information provided were also very effective.
To conclude, my stay there was unforgettable and I tried to think of any negative aspects in order to be objective, but I could not find any, because there wasn’t any!
