School

Our partner school is situated on the main shopping street, at the heart of the historical district, opposite the University and close to a multitude of shops, bars, restaurants and cafés. The school has 17 bright and comfortable classrooms, a computer room with free Internet access and a large library where you will be able to work independently. In order to relax after class and to meet up with your friends, you can head to the cafeteria. Finally, the school distinguishes itself by having a Job Club, where students can get information concerning student jobs. In this way, the school becomes a favourable platform for those who wish to find part-time work during their studies. This service is free and gives appointments to interested students once every two weeks in order that they may find out information on potential employers (bars, hotels, promotional work, shops. etc.). Participants are given information regarding the laws and methods in force and benefit from a complementary personalised service on how to correct/adapt CVs.

Accommodation

Host family
Host families, which have been carefully selected by our partner school, generally live around 30 minutes away from the school and offer a natural and stimulating environment for practising the language. Students stay in a single room and have half board provided, which is an interesting option considering that it allows you to account for meals for the whole of your stay.

Student house (from 18 years)
This option allows several students from the school to share accommodation during their stay. Each student has his/her own room and shares the common rooms and equipment (kitchen, bathroom, etc.) with the other students. This option is available for stays of 4 weeks or longer.

Residence "Besse Hall" available from 14.07 to 15.09.2012
This very comfortable residence is located in the centre of Oxford, close to the best shops, restaurants and historical sites of the city and not far away from the school. You will stay in a single room and share the bathroom, the kitchen and the laundry room with your flatmates. Internet access is available in each room at a charge of £10.-/week. Bedlinen is provided and the common areas of the residence are cleaned twice a week.

Leisure

In town, the cultural life is dense and ideal for students. From the cinema to the theatre, passing through concert halls and pubs on the way, it is difficult to get bored in Oxford. Outdoors, those who love open spaces will be enchanted by the magnificent natural scenery that surrounds the city. The school organises sports activities and outings, especially on the weekends. And London is only an hour away. The capital offers one of the richest cultural calendars in the world, for all tastes at any time!

Testimonial

Manuel Cuenca Rueda My stay in Oxford was great, the school staff as well as the residence were amazing. I liked BSC’s teaching method a lot for it is very effective and you learn fast. My colleagues were all very friendly, I met people from the most diverse countries and I have kept in touch with them. Learning English in Oxford was a wonderful experience, not only from a linguistic but also from a cultural point of view. Thanks to the activities organised by the school, I could visit other cities such as Stonehenge – which I had always wanted to visit. The residence was excellent, my room was very comfortable and clean and the staff was friendly. Besides, there was Wi-Fi access in my room, which turned out to be very useful to me. As an IT guy, I had taken my laptop with me so I could check my emails and communicate with other people from my room. All in all, my stay was great, it allowed me to learn a lot and to discover a new town. I will certainly go back there.
