School

International House Dublin boasts a central location in the Village Quarter district, just moments from the shops, restaurants, pubs and cafés that Dubliners frequent. St Stephen’s Green, a Victorian park of 11 hectares, is only a few minutes’ walk away. The area also has a hidden jewel, a lesser known garden called Iveagh Garden, where students often go for lunch. The school has 7 comfortably equipped classrooms, a common room where you can relax and meet other students and a computer room where you can continue to study or send emails.

Accommodation

Host family
The Irish are known for their sense of hospitality, which predisposes students to making rapid progress and familiarising themselves with the local culture. The majority of families are located in the south of Dublin, as is the International House school. They live in the residential areas, often in houses with gardens. Students have their own bedroom and share meals with the family, allowing them to put into practise the skills they have learned in class in an authentic and friendly context.

Shared apartments
For more independent students, sharing an apartment is the ideal option. Located about 10 minutes from the city-centre and about 20 minutes’ walk from the school itself, the apartments have three separate bedrooms, comfortably furnished, as well as a common room with an equipped kitchen and a shared bathroom.
Note that heating in the apartment is at an additional cost.

Leisure

The school offers a varied program of leisure activities that showcases the numerous riches of the Irish culture while creating an environment that is conducive to meeting other students and practising the language outside of classes. Students will have the leisure to discover the town, which is considered to be one of Europe’s most dynamic capitals, with its hundreds of pubs and a rapidly expanding music scene. The contrast is even more surprising once you are outside of Dublin: the Irish countryside offers spectacular scenery, studded with legends and the magic of other eras.
