Accommodation

Host family
Staying with a host family in Chicago is without any doubt the best way to practise English and to immerse yourself in the American culture. Each family is selected with care by our partner school and welcome you in a double or single room with half board provided. The families live in districts where you will find several bars, restaurants and bookshops. You will need to allow for around 40 minutes by public transport to get to the school.

Residence "International House of Chicago" (from 18 years)
This youth hostel which can accommodate up to 500 residents is part of the YMCA group, present throughout the world. It is located just beside the University of Chicago, around 30 minutes by public transport away from the school. The bedrooms, for single use, are quite basic (bed, desk, wardrobe; bedlinen and bath towels provided). Among the common equipment of the residence, you find bathrooms, a cafeteria, a living room, a games room, a kitchen and a laundry room.

Residence Getaway (from 18 years)
The residence proposed by our partner school in Chicago is located in an imposing red-brick building not far from Lincoln Park and Lake Michigan. The impressive building has been entirely renovated and constitutes a good opportunity for those who wish to have a more independent accommodation option. Located 30 minutes by public transport away from the course centre, the residence offers single bedrooms with a choice of private or shared bathrooms. Internet access is free and some computers are at the disposal of the residents. Bedlinen is provided, but not towels, and a kitchen allows you to prepare your own meals. A paying laundry room is also available. Breakfast is served every day and the bedrooms are cleaned twice a week. In the company of the other residents, you will be able to make use of the games room, the music room and the television lounge. You will be able to hire a bicycle and explore in this way the surrounding area which abounds with bars, restaurants, music clubs and shops.
Please note that you must bring a padlock in order to lock your bedroom.

Testimonial

Ruth Hidalgo Jiminez I decided to come to Chicago to improve my English, because in the near future, it could be necessary for my work. The course is very useful because we learn grammar and practise our speaking in a "fun way" and with other people from different countries. I believe that studying with other students from around the world is the best way to continue improving my English. Already from the second week, I felt that my English was more fluent. The teachers are always available to explain things to us and help us.
