The school is ideally located for those who want to be in the centre of Manhattan and enjoy all its attractions. It’s just a few blocks from the Empire State Building, south of Central Park, Madison Square and Greenwich Village. It is easy to get to by train or by bus. The school has 20 fully equipped classrooms, 2 multimedia resource centres, audio-video equipment and two student living rooms.

Following completion of an Intensive language course of at least one month’s duration, CES offers you the opportunity to undertake a period of unpaid work experience.

Accomodation

Host family
The ideal option for practising the language and diving into the New York way of life! Families provide individual rooms for students. There are different styles to suit different tastes and budgets: some very family-oriented, others more independent and some in the residential suburbs of Queens or Brooklyn. Half-board is provided or breakfast only, on request.
MSM Residence (from 18 years)
The Manhattan School of Music Residence, located in the north-west of the city, about 20 minutes on public transport from the school, offers a safe and optimal setting. Here, students stay in double or single rooms and share the bathrooms. The residence does not offer meals and it is not possible to cook here. However, you can eat at the school's cafeteria (except in summer) or take advantage of the huge choice of restaurants the city has to offer.

Leisure

The school offers a program of sports, social and cultural activities. Given the enormous amount of leisure activities for all tastes that you’ll find in New York, very few activities are organised outside of the city. The Big Apple is the uncontested capital of Jazz and Hall Music, welcoming artistic creations among the most prestigious and innovative in the world. The artistic life in New York is as vast as the multitude of cultures that are represented there. Some even have their own district, like Little Italy, China Town or Spanish Harlem: all worth a visit. To get away from the urban atmosphere, there’s nothing better than going to the centre, to the lungs of New York: Central Park. Here, you can stroll around the forest, forget that you’re in the city, have a siesta by the lake, enjoy just about any sport, visit places of high culture like the Metropolitan Museum, or simply wander through one of the most beautiful and surprising parks in the world! One thing’s for sure, you won’t get bored in New York.
