My language course with ESL at Kaplan Empire State Building was a rich and unforgettable experience. The courses were interesting. The teacher chose topics that were thought-provoking on an intellectual level and allowed us to work on our language skills, but also to have a real intercultural debate. The students came from Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Korea and Japan. There were people from various ages in our group, which allowed for a high intellectual level and a great atmosphere.

The Big Apple, a dream come true! First, the heart of Brooklyn, where my host family lives. Then, the Flatbush Ave tube station. A few tube stations later, I find myself in Manhattan. The school is right in the middle of Time Square, so it’s always very busy. As regards classes, the atmosphere is great, you can meet people from all over the world and the staff is excellent!

Here, everything is possible, there is so much to do that you would need to stay for at least a whole year to visit everything! I had the opportunity to see, among others, the Statue of Liberty, the MoMA, Central Park, the top of the Empire State Building, Chinatown… All the landmark places! New York is a city that moves fast, so it’s impossible to get bored here! And the Americans are open-minded and friendly, unlike what you might hear.

The food is said to be unhealthy here, but it is not that bad. There are many fastfoods, but a very wide choice! You are free to choose what you want to eat, and believe me, you can have a balanced meal if you want to.

As far as I am concerned, I fell in love with the city that never sleeps. The nightlife is also very rich. Don’t hesitate to discover this city, it is really worth it!
