The Embassy CES course centre in San Francisco is located in the very lively district of Polk Street, between Nob Hill and Russian Hill, which is reputed for its restaurants, shops and cinemas. You may have seen this part of San Francisco in numerous films like Mrs. Doubtfire and Dirty Harry – the streets are at such an incline that they are almost vertical! Close to public transports, our partner school is housed in a renovated, bright and functional building. In the 12 spacious and very well-equipped classrooms, the teaching is given by committed and motivated teachers, Throughout the building, you will have free Internet access. In the computer centre, you will be able to use one of the computer made available to students. In another room, you will find a quiet corner for working or listening to a tape. A television, a DVD player and a library give access to computers, written or multimedia tools. A relaxation area allows you to meet up with your international friends during breaks and after classes. And in order to have something to eat, a kitchen is available for your use – exchange your recipes with students from across the world!

Our partner school chooses the host families, who assure students a language study stay in an authentic setting whilst having a single room at their disposal, with care. You will share breakfast and the evening meal with your hosts. In order to get to the course centre, you will have to allow for an average of 60 minutes by bus. The majority of the houses of the host families are small buildings of the 1930s/’40s in colonial or Art Deco style with one bathroom which you will use in common with your hosts. Bedlinen and towels are provided and washed and you will be able to use the family washing machine or bring your laundry to one of the laundrettes close to the house.
Residence - Monroe Hotel
The Monroe residence is located in the prestigious Pacific Heights district and ten minutes’ walk from the school. The building is attractive and has all comforts, including a TV lounge, a games room, a laundry room and free Internet access in all rooms. You will be able to occupy a single or double room with a desk or a table and you will share the bathroom with the other residents. A cleaning services passes every week. Bedlinen is provided. You will benefit from half board during the week and at the weekend, breakfast is replaced by brunch.
Residence - Vantaggio Suites
You will only need to walk for 15 minutes to reach the school from this residence. It is located in the north part of San Francisco Bay, close to Hayes Valley and a few metres from the San Francisco Symphony and Opera.
Staying in a single or double room (bedlinen provided), you will share the bathroom with the other residents. Refrigerators and microwaves are available for your use in the common kitchen. Internet is free throughout the residence, cable television is installed and a cleaning service is assured once a week.

Every week, our partner school proposes an activities programme which includes excursions or activities at the course centre. Whether it be a walking tour in the centre of San Francisco, the visit of a museum or an excursion to Pier 39, a place which abounds with shops and restaurants, you will spoilt for choice ! In the evenings, the school proposes cinema meetings, a baseball night or karaoke competitions. For a modest cost, you will also be able to go sailing, bowling, cycling or on crossings of San Francisco Bay. A city with an intense cultural life, « Frisco » also appeals through the quality of the concerts and events which take place on a regular basis. Full-day excursions in Yosemite National Park, to Lake Tahoe or in the winegrowing regions of the Napa Valley will take place.
