ESL is situated on the main street of Montreux, which runs alongside the banks of Lake Geneva and its beautiful promenade lined with exotic trees. You can easily reach the school from your accommodation by bus or by train, with bus stops located nearby as well as the train station only being five minutes away on foot. Within direct proximity of the school, you will be able to meet up with other students in different bars and restaurants. The language school building contains 12 comfortable and bright classrooms, and the school's terrace provides an uninterrupted view out over Lake Geneva and the highest peaks of the Alps. The small size of our Montreux school allows students to receive personal attention and assistance on arrival and throughout their stay. Thanks to several computers and to a WiFI network covering the whole school, you can access the Internet free of charge.

Accommodation

Host family
The host family option is perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in the culture of French-speaking Switzerland and to get to know the locals. Our network of families is chosen with care and each one knows the school well. The host familiies generally live between 20-50 minutes away from the school, you will have your own double or single room, with half board provided. Living with a Swiss host family will allow you to discover the lifestyle of the inhabitants, their customs and cuisine, and to enjoy a very enriching experience. It’s also a chance to practise your French daily in an authentic context, allowing you to make good progress.

Shared apartment (from 18 years)
For those who prefer to be more independent, our school offers accommodation in an apartment 5 minutes from the school on foot. You will stay in a double or single room and will share the common areas and meals with the other students. The apartments are bright, very comfortable and have excellent facilities such as a television, fully-equipped kitchen, washing machine and WiFi Internet connection.

Leisure

The leisure activities programme is based around places of interest in the region and social events. Students will have the chance to get to know each other better and practise French outside the classroom during the outings and excursions organised by the school. Sporting activities are organised in summer and winter alike. Thanks to its geographical location, between a lake and mountains, Montreux is less than an hour from the Alps. Numerous ski resorts offer excellent conditions for fans of snowboarding and skiing, as well as extraordinary scenery for nature-lovers. During the month of July, Montreux is home to the famous Jazz Festival that gives the town a lively rhythm. Add to this event the numerous exhibitions and noteworthy cultural events in Montreux and the surrounding areas of Vevey, Lausanne and Geneva.
