Since 1995, our partner school Treffpunkt in Bamberg, a university city listed as UNESCO World Heritage, has been established on the first and second floors of a smart building in the city centre, 50 metres from the pedestrian area, with a view of the Main-Danube canal. The students, for the most part around thirty years old, represent more than 50 different nationalities. The school has specialised in courses for professionals, university students and people interested more particularly in the culture. The course centre has 10 very bright classrooms, generously renovated in 2004, and a computer room with free Internet and WiFi access. A library and a relaxation room with a TV, DVD library and musical instruments are available.

Accommodation

Host family
Our partner school insists that you are accommodated well and chooses its host families with care. It is in the convivial setting of a household which can be made up as much by a couple as a single person that you will improve your languaage knowledge on a daily basis. It is the best option for living the language in total immersion. You stay in a single room, choose between the options of breakfast only or half board (Mon-Fri) and share the common rooms as well as the bathroom with your hosts. All of the families are situated within a permiter of approximately 15 minutes by bus or bicycle from the school.

Shared apartment
Our partner school also proposes sharing an apartment (WG) with local inhabitants, which offers a combination between the interaction with locals (couple, single person, German student. etc., of all ages) and a certain level of independence. Staying in a single room, you will share the common areas and will have access to the shared kitchen. You will contribute, like your flatmates, to household tasks.

It is also possible to stay in studios, apartments for individual use or comfortable hotels, all close to the school.

Leisure

Our partner school will present you with a weekly activities programme among which you will choose those which interest you. Culture occupies a large place in it, with visits, concerts and themed outings. But local attractions (breweries, Stammtisch, etc.) and sport also figure in this programme. At the weekend, the Treffpunkt school will propose some destinations for full-day excursions to you because, in Bamberg, you will be in pole position to discover, among others, Nürnberg and its Kaiserburg, Würzburg and its old bridge on the Rhine, Regensburg and its dome.
In order to facilitate you getting around Bamberg, the school rents bicycles at preferential rates.
