Our partner school, DID deutsch-institut, is located a few minutes from the Alexanderplatz, whose decor remains unchanging since the radical changes which took place in the years which followed the fall of the Wall, and in the historical centre of this fascinating and dynamic city. The course centre is situated in a quiet small street, right beside the Oranienburger Strasse with its unique atmosphere, where, when night falls, night owls frequent the countless very trendy bars and cafés and and the cinemas and theatres, which are just as numerous. In the 15 bright and spacious classrooms of the school, German is taught with commitment and enthusiasm by the qualified teachers. A cafeteria with vending machines for snacks and drinks, an internet café equipped with computers (fees charged for use) and a multimedia room with fitted-out working posts allow for nice encounters and favour work after classes. In a study centre, you will find learning material. Internet access through cable and WiFi is free throughout the building. The cherry on the cake: a large terrace on the roof offers an uninterrupted view of Berlin. You are only around 15 minutes' walk away from the Brandenburger Tor. Take advantage of the privileged location of the school in order to discover trendy Berlin, protagonist of a unique history.

Host family
The Berliners are reputed for their cheeky humour and their way of speaking. By living with a family, you will have a ringside seat for listening to stories told in "Berlinerisch" and sharing in the daily life of inhabitants of the German capital. Quite quickly, you will get into the habit of practising the German learned in class and chatting with your hosts. You will also benefit from their shrewd advice for the visit of the city! Staying in a single room, you will be able to choose between breakfast only or half board. The bathroom and the kitchen will be shared with the host family. As this accommodation option is very popular in Germany, single people or one-parent families also gladly welcome international students.

On leaving the school on foot, you will discover the historical district of the centre of Berlin. Everything there tells you of the incredible frenzy of living in this city whose dynamism is reflected today in its inexhaustible artistic and cultural creativity. The alternative Tacheles cultural centre expresses in its own way this multicultural creativity. You will visit the rare places where some remains of the Berlin Wall still subsist, you will climb into the spectacular and bright Reichstag building, the seat of the German parliament, and you will discover the Hackescher Markt, a departure point for immersions in the nightlife of the German capital. The world of fashion is present in the ultrachic shops and art is exhibited in very trendy galleries.
Our partner school's programme of cultural, sports and discovery activities also includes excursions to Potsdam, a place of spectacular beauty where the kings of Prussia once resided.  Sanssouci, the New Palace and the old town of Potsdam tell you of a glorious past and lead you into world history, as it is also here that Truman, Churchill and Stalin met for the Potsdam Conference in 1945. Berlin, Potsdam and its surroundings - a voyage into the past and the present to be experienced in German!
