Accommodation
Host family
The host families carefully selected by the Genki school to accommodate students during their stay in Fukuoka have a developed sense of hospitality and a real desire to communicate their language and culture to students. Most of the families live near the city centre, around 45 minutes away from the school by public transport. You will stay in a single room with breakfast provided. Living with a Japanese family is an excellent opportunity to discover Japanese customs and culinary traditions but also to practise the language. You needn't worry about your level of Japanese. Even beginners manage to make themselves understood in these welcoming Japanese families.
Shared apartment
Sharing an apartment with Japanese inhabitants is an ideal solution for those who wish to be independent whilst making new friends. Each student has a single room and shares the common rooms of the apartment (kitchen, living room, bathroom, laundry room) with your flatmates. Most of the apartments on offer are located close to the city centre, around 10-30 minutes by bus or by metro away from the school.
Guesthouse "Tomo"
Our partner school also proposes staying in a guesthouse where you will share with other students from the school as well as Japanese university students. You wil certainly be able to make numerous new friends! The guesthouse is located outside the city, around 60 minutes away from the school itself, but it is served very well by the metro. You will stay in a single room and will share the kitchen and bathroom with the other students and will also have the possibility to pay for and have your meals on-site.
