Accommodation

Host family
The host families carefully selected by the Genki school to accommodate students during their stay in Fukuoka have a developed sense of hospitality and a real desire to communicate their language and culture to students. Most of the families live near the city centre, around 45 minutes away from the school by public transport. You will stay in a single room with breakfast provided. Living with a Japanese family is an excellent opportunity to discover Japanese customs and culinary traditions but also to practise the language. You needn't worry about your level of Japanese. Even beginners manage to make themselves understood in these welcoming Japanese families.

Shared apartment (from 18 years)
Sharing an apartment with Japanese inhabitants is an ideal solution for those who wish to be independent whilst making new friends. Each student has a single room and shares the common rooms of the apartment (kitchen, living room, bathroom, laundry room) with your flatmates. Most of the apartments on offer are located close to the city centre, around 10-30 minutes by bus or by metro away from the school.

« Standard », « Superior », « Deluxe » residences
The various residences offered by our partner school are classified according to the level of comfort provided. In all these residences, you will stay in a single room, take your meals in the cafeteria and share the laundry facilities with the other students. Breakfast and dinner are served at the residence (choice of two menus). Bedlinen is provided but towels are not. The rooms are in keeping with Japanese standards and are therefore relatively small (except “Deluxe”)

Standard:
Distance from school (by public transports): approx. 30 minutes
No private bathroom, limited access to the Internet or free access in the computer room.

Superior:
Distance from school (by public transports): approx. 20 minutes
Private bathroom/toilets, room decorated in the European style. Phone for incoming calls, air-conditioning and fridge. Unlimited Wi-Fi Internet access. Shared kitchen.

Deluxe:
Distance from school (by public transports): approx. 10 minutes
Private bathroom/toilets, larger room decorated in the European style, some have a private kitchenette in the room. Phone for incoming calls, air-conditioning and fridge. Unlimited Wi-Fi Internet access. Shared kitchen.

Leisure

Leisure activities are very important for our partner school which makes every effort to allow its students to discover the Japanese culture in all its richness and diversity. Calligraphy, origami, tea ceremony, cooking, pottery, martial arts or mangas: Japanese courses + culture will win over even the most curious among you. Every week, our partner school will propose different excursions and outings to you. From Nagasaki to Mount Aso, to cinema evening, BBQs or "izakaya" (Japanese restaurants), you will have plenty of opportunities to speak Japanese, meet new friends and bring back great photos!
