Cordoba is a small city of 300,000 people which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Iberians, the Romans, the Visigoths, the Arabs, the Jews and the Castilians have all inhabited it. La Juderia, the former Jewish neighborhood, the Mesquite, a pure Omeyadian architectural jewel transformed into a cathedral by Charles V, and the Azahara Medina: everything reminds you of the great historical mixture in this city. Situated beside the Guadalquivir River and the Sierra Morena mountain chain, you can use Cordoba as a starting point to visit other cities in Andalucia, all less than three hours away, or organize excursions to the surrounding mountains.
