Our partner school occupies two buildings in a residential area, close to the beach of Ponta Verde. The first centre consists of 6 bright and comfortable classrooms, a reception area with a lounge, a library and free Internet access via Wi-Fi. In a recreation room, you can watch DVDs and use computers connected to the Internet. You will be able to buy snacks and drinks in a kiosk outside the course centre. In the other building, you will find a fully equipped kitchen, which is available for the students to prepare their lunches, as well as a living room. There is a large choice of restaurants in the immediate surroundings of the school. The bus stop is located a minute away and allows you to go to the town centre in very little time.

Accommodation

Host family
The population of Maceió is known for being relaxed and friendly. So there is no doubt that your host family will give you a warm and friendly welcome and make your stay as pleasant as possible. In a Brazilian family (which might be a traditional family or a couple or a single person) you will get a great insight into the daily life in this vast country. You will also practise your Portuguese in a totally relaxed atmosphere and increase the knowledge acquired in class. The host family will prepare a single room for you and provide you with full board accommodation.

Pousadas
Our partner school offers accommodation in inexpensive hotels, called « pousadas ». Not far from the school, you will have an accommodation that guarantees total independence at a reasonable price. Breakfast is included, other meals might be taken in the hotel restaurant. Please contact us for further information.

Leisure

Beach and watersports are a must! But do not forget to look into the numerous activities proposed by the language school: a visit of the town that will allow you to discover the sacred art and colonial houses in the baroque style, shopping with a stop at a spectacular viewpoint on the beach, gourmet meals, friendly football matches between teachers and students, or a visit to the Theo Brandão museum that exhibits objects related to the culture and folklore of North Eastern Brazil… Once a month, cruises to Mundaú lagoon will allow you to explore the local fauna and flora under the guidance of an expert. Dance and music are omnipresent in the city and can be enjoyed with no limit! Besides, if you need to refresh your dancing skills, the school offers Samba and Forro lessons every afternoon.
