Language school Bocas del Toro, Habla Ya

Our partner school is based in a large hacienda-style house in the heart of Bocas de Toro. Relax and chat to international students on the large balcony or in the light and spacious colourful rooms. A maximum of six students per class learn Spanish in 8 air-conditioned classrooms in the school located just 10 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from the restaurants, bars and shops. The enthusiastic teachers encourage the students to speak as much as possible and are here to help wherever possible. The school also has Wi-Fi connection and flat screen televisions. Students can get what they need from the next-door supermarket and prepare their meals in the school’s fully equipped kitchen with microwave, oven and fridge. The school also has a reception, teacher’s area, student’s lounge and garden with hammocks and chairs. This language school is a little gem in paradise!

Arrival package: 1st night in Panama City and transfer to Bocas del Toro: Upon arrival in Panama City you will be collected from the airport and driven to the hotel in town where you will spend your first night and relax after your long flight. Make the most of your free time the next day to visit Panama City! You will then be driven to the airport for an internal flight to Bocas del Toro.

Host family
This is the best way to fully immerse yourself in the language and culture of Bocas de Toro. Living in a Panamanian household is a unique experience where you will be given a warm welcome and become part of family life. This is a golden opportunity to speak Spanish all day long and learn more about local customs. Our partner school’s host families are carefully chosen and live between 5 and 20 minutes from the course centre on foot. You will stay in a single room (or double room if you are travelling with another person) and share communal areas with your hosts. You have three daily food options to choose from: breakfast, half-board or full-board.

Old Caribbean Hostel
This friendly little hacienda-style hostel is opposite the school and next to a supermarket just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Bocas del Toro. It is ideal for students who have chosen a long stay. On the ground floor there are three bedrooms with a private bathroom and fully equipped kitchen and between one and three single beds. There is a small TV in each bedroom. Upstairs there are dormitories with 4 or 6 bunk beds, bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. You can do your homework in the sun on the balcony and try dishes from all over the world in the kitchen shared with international guests. This establishment is very popular with students and also has a covered patio on the ground floor.

Monte Carlo Apartments
There are 14 modern single or double rooms and 8 suites with two separate bedrooms which accommodate up to 7 guests. It also has a beautiful tropical garden, swimming pool and is just a minute from school and 5 minutes from the beach – what more could you ask for? The surroundings are spectacular, the rooms and suites are air-conditioned and each apartment has its own well-equipped kitchen for you to cook what you fancy. A large balcony surrounds the building and free Wi-Fi connection is available. Bask in the building’s friendly atmosphere and enjoy the privacy that comes with your own apartment.

Tropical Suites Boutique Hotel
This high standard establishment has 16 modern suites, a presidential suite and penthouse on the top floor. This boutique hotel is on the shore of the Caribbean Sea and just minutes from the centre of Bocas del Toro. Each suite has a private balcony, two double beds, bathroom with Jacuzzi, flat screen TV and a well-equipped kitchen. If you don’t feel like cooking then why not have your breakfast or sample Caribbean specialities in one of the hotel’s two neighbouring restaurants. You’ll be spoilt for choice with the sheer number of activities organised by our partner school: every weekday there is an activity or trip for international students to get together for an adventure into the unknown. Panamanian dinners, film nights, salsa lessons, conversation classes, yoga sessions and so much more! Most of the participants come here to surf as this beautiful area is renowned far and wide for its superb swells. Enjoy an authentic and relaxed "surfing" atmosphere here ! The school also provides daily nature tours either before or after lessons: hiking, trekking, zip-lining in the rainforest and diving are but a few examples of what nature lovers and thrill seekers can do here.
