Auckland, anchored on the North Island, is unquestionably dedicated to the sea, being almost entirely surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Sea. A volcanic eruption 50,000 years ago created the unique geography of the region of Auckland, composed of small conical mountains covered with lush vegetation and small islands scattered off its shores into the sea. Climb up the Sky Tower, or go climbing on Mount Eden to enjoy an exceptional panorama of the city and of the sea. The numerous bays are ideal for all kinds of water sports, but New Zealanders enjoy sailing there above all else. Auckland has become a cosmopolitan city that welcomes a continuous flow of immigrants. It also includes the highest concentration of Polynesians in the world...
Founded in 1840 between two divided bays, it owes its development to its port, Waitemata, an inescapable port of call of the transpacific routes. "Tamaki Makau Rau" has become the "City of Sails" but it is also the most important and dynamic city of the country. Auckland is therefore a choice destination for arriving in New Zealand and a great springboard for finding a job. All the more so as its international and multicultural atmosphere favours and greatly facilitates contacts and encounters. Concerning the academic part of the programme, Crown Institute of Studies is a high-quality establishment which will allow you to quickly reactivate your language knowledge before travelling to work in the four corners of the country.
