The programme:
The programme proposed by our partner school EC in Cape Town takes place in two steps. The internships are proposed following an intensive English course of at least 8 weeks which will allow you to have the necessary linguistic "baggage" (upper intermediate level cf. table). The internships are unpaid, but you can target the sector of activity which interests you. The following areas are proposed: finance, international business, insurance, marketing, media, law, administration, secretarial work, industry, tourism, hotel industry, social work, ecology, environmental protection. Here are the five "flagship" internships proposed by EC in South Africa:

Two Oceans Aquarium
Looking after penguins as part of a special programme dedicated to this species: maintenance of the aquariums, preparing the food, assisting the staff during the presentations for visitors, welcoming and informing visitors.
4 weeks to 6 months. Working schedule to be discussed on-site.

Fauna protection - Boulders Beach Penguin Colony
If you like penguins, this programme is made for you! The internship lasts 2 or 3 months and takes place in the "Table Mountain National Park" natural reserve at Boulders Beach. By working with a team responsible for the protection of the penguins, you will get to know these nice birds better, you will discover the issues and the methods put in place in order to ensure the survival of this protected species and you will also pass on this knowledge to the park's visitors. A unique experience!

Cinema – Magic Mountain Productions /Stillking Films
The exceptional natural environment of South Africa and its great panoramas inspire numerous film directors. Production assistant at
"Magic Mountain Productions" or secretarial work at the "Stillking Films Company", several internships are proposed according to your knowledge and your experiences in the domain. The cinema season in South Africa goes from mid-October to mid-March and the internships last between 2 and 6 months. You are passionate about the world of cinema? Don't hesitate, Cape Town awaits you!

Marketing & ecotourism
Are you interested in the world of communication and marketing? You will certainly find an internship that suits you in Cape Town. South Africa is ceaselessly developing and renewing its tourist offer and the numerous players of this boom are very demanding of living forces and new ideas. Respect of the environment and nature plays a crucial role in this. Including the organisation of safaris and excursions for individuals ("African Eagle Day Tours"), the creation of deep-sea diving tours ("Obzside Adventure Centre"), the sectors of activity proposed for these internships are varied and really exciting!

Programme requirements:
- Minimum age: 18
- Résumé and cover letter in English
- Indicate three preferred fields of activity
- Copy of your eventual work certificates and letters of recommendation
- Complete application file to be sent at the same time as your enrolment form.

Important: The internships mentioned are very much in demand and the places are granted depending of course on the previous language skills and experiences in the researched domain, on the candidate's motivation, on the season or on availability.

The internships take place for a duration to be defined between 4 and a maximum of 24 weeks, generally between 8 and 12 weeks. They are proposed here in the form of packages including various course+ internship options according to the duration, the objectives and the language level of each student. The accommodation is only included during the academic part. For the accommodation during the internship, see options and supplements.
