Language school Sydney, Embassy CES

Disabled access at school
WiFi is free.

School

Our partner school Embassy CES is situated in the centre of Sydney, surrounded by numerous shops, cafés and restaurants. The classrooms are modern and spacious, and there is a very well- equipped computer lab with free Internet access. If you would like to study in a quiet environment, take advantage of the student resource centre. To relax after classes or during breaks, you can meet friends in the student lounge and chat over a coffee. The campus is shared with Charles Sturt University and Martin College, which makes it ideal for practising your English and for meeting new friends.

Courses

Semester, academic year

The Language Year programme is designed especially for students who wish to follow a progressive academic course of study over 6 or 9 months. Based on continuity, this programme allows for structured, efficient language training and is therefore suitable for anyone wishing to study in an intensive way. It also involves more homework, giving you the opportunity to improve your skills according to your needs and to make fast progress. From level upper intermediate and upwards, it is possible to take a Cambridge course during the last trimester.

The programme is divided into 11-week terms, interrupted by 1-, 2- or 4-week breaks (holidays)*. Thus, the academic semester programme includes 22 weeks of courses (2 x 11) with a 1-, 2- or 4-week break (holidays)*. In the same way, the academic year includes 33 weeks of courses (3 x 11), with a 2-, 3- or 5-week break (holidays)*, depending on the time of year.

You can start a semester or an academic year with the trimester that matches your level. For instance, an intermediate student with a B1 level can complete a semester by enrolling in trimesters 2 and 3.

The prices include accommodation for the whole duration of your stay, breaks included (holidays)*. The courses consist of a total of 28 lessons per week, including 20 lessons of general English followed by 8 lessons related to 2 thematic courses out of several to choose from (at a rate of 4 lessons for each course)

You will also find a large range of sports (surfing, sailing, horse-riding, swimming, bike-riding, bush walking etc.) to help you let off steam. Each week, the Platypus club organises parties and outings so that you can enjoy your stay in Sydney to the full, meeting and sharing your experiences with the other international students from the school. For going out at night, Sydney city-centre is full of cinemas, theatres, pubs and nightclubs: something for everyone!
