Language school San José - Santo Domingo, Academia Colombus

Our partner school is located in a modern and well-equipped building, close to the city centre of Santo Domingo and just near the bus stop that links you to San Jose or Heredia in less than 10 minutes. The classrooms are spacious and bright. A very pleasant garden is available to you, so you can make the most of the sunshine during breaks and get to know the other international students at the school. Classes in small groups (max. 5 students) allow you to study Spanish in an intensive manner, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, with experienced, motivated teachers available to help you. Teaching is as personalised as possible, and will take into account your interests and goals. It is up to you to choose which package suits you the best from the range of courses on offer.

Host family
Our partner school personally selects families to welcome its students. Located no more than 15 minutes from the school, you will have your own room and will share the common areas with the family. You will be able to choose between half and full board and your clothes washing will be taken care of. This accommodation option will allow you to get to know the Costa Rican lifestyle with its warm and open inhabitants, and to practise Spanish daily in a friendly and motivating atmosphere.

Shared apartment
If you wish to live in an independent way, you can opt for accommodation in a shared apartment. Staying in a single or double room, you will share the living room with television and the bathroom with your flatmates. Bedlinen is provided and once a week, a cleaning service will be carried out. The spacious apartments include a common kitchen and a garden where you will be able to relax and chat with your flatmates. The apartments are located around 10-25 minutes' walk from the course centre.

Apartment
Our partner school also proposes to you to stay in private apartments, 20-25 minutes' walk from the course centre. Located close to the city centre and numerous shops, the apartments offer you all the comfort necessary. They consist of a single room (bedlinen is provided), a kitchen, a bathroom (bath towels not provided) and a living room with television. A washing machine is at your disposal and a cleaning service is carried out once a week.

Academia Columbus makes a point of developping a rich social life during the week and at the weekends, and a series of activities (dance, local cuisine, history, cinema evenings or theatrical workshops) that will allow you to practise Spanish outside of the classroom, and to get to know the Costa Rican culture better while having an unforgettable time with your teachers and friends.
