Courses

Semester, academic year

The Language Year programme is designed especially for students who wish to follow a progressive academic course of study over 6 or 9 months. Based on continuity, this programme allows for structured, efficient language training and is therefore suitable for anyone wishing to study in an intensive way. It also involves more homework, giving you the opportunity to improve your skills according to your needs and to make fast progress. From level upper intermediate and upwards, it is possible to take a Cambridge course during the last trimester.

The programme is divided into 11-week terms, interrupted by 1-, 2- or 4-week breaks (holidays)*. Thus, the academic semester programme includes 22 weeks of courses (2 x 11) with a 1-, 2- or 4-week break (holidays)*. In the same way, the academic year includes 33 weeks of courses (3 x 11), with a 2-, 3- or 5-week break (holidays)*, depending on the time of year.

You can start a semester or an academic year with the trimester that matches your level. For instance, an intermediate student with a B1 level can complete a semester by enrolling in trimesters 2 and 3.

The prices include accommodation for the whole duration of your stay, breaks included (holidays)*. The courses consist of a total of 28 lessons per week, including 20 lessons of general English followed by 8 lessons related to 2 thematic courses out of several to choose from (at a rate of 4 lessons for each course)

Breakfast and dinner is included, making this a good option from a financial point of view.

The residence located in Tipos Court offers accommodation all year round in modern and spacious single rooms with private bathrooms. It is about 15-20 minutes away from the school by bike and 5 from the city-centre. Meals are not included in this option, but the fully equiped shared kitchens allow you to cook whatever you like. The residence provides a comfortable and pleasant environment for meeting other international students and speaking English in a spontaneous manner.

Leisure

A varied program of leisure activities is offered each week. It’s a great chance for the students to get to know each other while discovering the different places of interest in the city and its surrounds. Testimonial

Yann Crivelli I am writing to report about my stay in Cambridge as a student in Embassy CES. It gives me great pleasure to inform you that I was warmly welcomed by both the persons in charge of the school and the students. As you know, I am aiming for the First Certificate of English, which is why I chose the FCE classes. However, I was allowed to be more ambitious, as a result of which I have now the pleasure of attending the CAE classes. I have no hesitation in recommending Cambridge as a destination for students who want to learn English. What appeals to me about Cambridge is its beautiful colleges, pubs, people and river, which make it an unique experience. The many reasonable trips suggested by the school which are great for anybody keen to visit the country. Anyway, I think that you will always be welcome in the numerous restaurants and bars of Cambridge.
