Our partner school is situated in a nice residential area, only 5 minutes' walking distance from the town centre and only 10 minutes from Bournemouth Beach. Close to numerous parks, terraces and gardens, it offers students a calm and welcoming atmosphere. In addition to the 28 classrooms in which classes take place, you will have free access to all of the school's facilities, including a study room with computers, multimedia material and free Internet access. Only a stone's throw away from the school, there are two restaurants which offer you typical English, Oriental or European dishes, unless you would prefer to stay at the school's café. After classes, why not play a basketball or volleyball match on the available courts, play table tennis or participate in the evening activities organised by the school?

Diploma of English

The special programmes developed by King’s Colleges that allow students to obtain a diploma in English constitute a real asset. In addition to validating your competences by taking one of the main official exams (Cambridge FCE, CAE or TOEFL), you will achieve great fluency in oral English, increase your skills in a specific area and live a year rich in beneficial experiences. Besides, The Diploma of English programmes offer excellent value for money.
The English courses are intensive. You will receive 34 lessons a week. Thematic options will complete this weekly schedule. The programme may extend over 24 weeks (academic semester) or 34 weeks (academic year).

English + Introduction to tourism / Hospitality

(20 general + 8 "Tourism / Hospitality" + 6 "project work")
Course duration: 6 or 12 weeks
Level: Elementary to Advanced
Students/class: max. 14 people
Minimum age: 16 years
Daily schedule: 09:00-12:30 + 13:30-15:00 (Mon-Thu)

This programme is organised in cooperation with the Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality (CTH) and combines 20 weekly lessons of general English with 8 weekly lessons of introduction to tourism and / or hospitality. The programme takes place over 6-week terms with fixed starting dates, according to the chosen option (tourism or hospitality).
You can take either or both options, one after the other. With the introduction course to tourism, you will learn the specific vocabulary, management techniques, as well as the rules of tourism management. With the introduction course to hospitality, you will acquire the vocabulary related to this field as well as specific skills in service and customer relations in hotels and restaurants.

Accommodation

Host family
Most students prefer to live with a host family during their stay. In fact, this competitively-priced accommodation option allows you at once to practise your English after class and to discover English family life. Staying in a single room, you will have half board provided. The host families are carefully selected by our partner school and generally live around 10-20 minutes by bus or 10-30 minutes' walking distance away from the school.

Beach Premium Residence (from 18 years)
This residence is ideally located in the West Cliff area, only 5 minutes from the seafront and 15 minutes’ walk from the school. Entirely refurbished and refurnished in 2010/2011, it is used exclusively by students at the Kings Bournemouth language school. The residents stay in the 12 single or twin* ensuite rooms with TV and receive half board. They can enjoy the comfortable facilities of the residence: free Wi-Fi Internet throughout, TV lounge with games console and DVD player, snack area to prepare tea, coffee and toasts, self-service laundry room, access to the nearby swimming pool (with a supplement). The rooms are cleaned once a week and bedlinen and towels are changed in the process. Communal areas are cleaned daily. Residential staff is available at any time at the residence.

Kings Town Centre Residence (from 18 years)
A 10-minute walk to the school building and the beach, this brand new residence is located in a historic building in the heart of the city of Bournemouth. The ensuite bedrooms are spacious and light and furnished to a high standard. Bedlinen is provided and changed once a week but you must bring your own bath towels. There is free Internet access in all rooms. The bedrooms are cleaned weekly, along with the communal areas. A fully equipped kitchen is available to all of the international students who would like to prepare their meals and exchange recipes! You can join the other residents in the student lounge for lively conversations. You will have access to coin-operated laundry facilities.

Lyme Regis House Residence , 8th July – 25th August 2012 (from 16 years )
This brand new residence is located close to the town centre and to the main train and bus stations. It offers single rooms with private bathrooms grouped in flats with 5 or 6 bedrooms. In each room, you will have free access to the Internet. Bedlinen is provided upon arrival, but you need to bring your own bath towels. The room is cleaned and bedlinen is changed once a week. Laundry facilities are available. Each apartment includes a fully equipped kitchen and a dining/lounge area where you can have lively discussions with the other students. It will take you 15 minutes to get to the course centre. You will receive half-board accommodation (meals served at the Trouville Hotel, right next to the residence).

Leisure

Bournemouth is known for its large green parks and long sandy beaches. In the town centre, you will be able to choose among numerous cafés, restaurants and pubs and enjoy the elegant and cosmopolitan atmosphere of this nice town. Our partner school proposes two free activities every week, such as numerous sports, outings to discos and games and film evenings. Bournemouth is also the perfect destination for discovering all of England's south coast. For the weekend, you can go take part in excursions to Bath, Oxford, Salisbury, Stonehenge, Winchester or Brighton. Knowing that London is only 2 hours away by train...above all, don't forget your camera!
