Our partner school is located in the centre of Playa del Carmen, just near the cafés and restaurants and 10 minutes from the beach. It is housed in a modern, two storey building in vibrant colours. The 10 classrooms are air-conditioned and bright. WiFi connection is available to enable you to connect freely to the Internet and a beautiful interior courtyard is at your disposition for enjoying the sunshine and getting to know the other international students during breaks. Mini-group classes (max. 5 students) will allow you to learn Spanish in an intensive manner, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with teachers who are motivated, experienced and available to help you. Teaching is as personalised as possible and takes into account your interests and objectives. It is up to you to choose the option that suits you best from the wide range of courses on offer.

Accommodation

Host family
Our partner school personally takes care of selecting host families to welcome its students. Located about 20-30 minutes from the school, you will have your own room and share the common rooms of the house with the family members. You will have breakfast and a hot evening meal provided for you daily. This option allows you to discover the Mexican way of life and to get to know the country’s warm and open inhabitants while practising your Spanish daily in a motivating atmosphere.

Shared apartments
Located about 15-20 minutes from the school, these 2 or 3-bedroomed apartments are available for students. You will have a single room and share the kitchen, TV lounge and amenities with other international students. It is up to you to organise your meals: why not try out some new Mexican recipes with your flatmates?
Please note: the doors to the rooms in the apartment cannot be locked (only the main entrance to the apartment can be locked).

Leisure

Academia Columbus makes it a point of honour to develop a rich and varied social and cultural life for its students. Both during the week and on weekends, you can enjoy a range of activities (dance, local cuisine, history, cinema evenings or theatre workshops) that will enable you to practise Spanish outside of the classroom, to get to know the Spanish culture better and to have an unforgettable time with your teachers and friends.
Excursions are also offered to discover vestiges of the enigmatic Mayan empire:
Tulum, Coba or Chitchen-Itza. Don’t forget your camera!
