Our partner school is ideally located in the heart of San Francisco, only a stone's throw away from Union Square in the Soma district. The language school building is well-equipped and provides all the facilities necessary to enable you to study in the best conditions: 34 modern, spacious and bright classrooms, a language lab with a DVD library, two computer rooms with quick and free Internet access. The student café and a comfortable lounge await you during breaks, to relax or chat with your new friends. Located close to the school, the Yerba Buena gardens are a real oasis of peace in the heart of the city. It is ideal for relaxing after a day of courses or a visit to the Museum of Modern Art, unless you’d rather discover the hills of San Francisco in one of the famous Cable cars.

Courses

International Semester Courses
This programme has been developed for long-term English study stays. With its two- or three- trimester programmes, it is the ideal solution if you intend to study English over a period of several months. The course includes 20 to 28 General English lessons per week and the classes are limited to 12 students. With these long-term programmes (24 to 36 weeks), you will take advantage of special reductions on courses and accommodation. For the intensive course, you will be able to add special courses according to your wishes, for instance Business English or English for Tourism, but also preparation courses for Cambridge exams (FCE, CAE, CPE) or IELTS. St Giles College provides an academic orientation and placement service. Immersing yourself into the English language and culture as part of a long-term programme is a highly enriching human and linguistic experience that will be useful to you all your life.

As California is one of the most multicultural states, there is no such thing as a typical family. Staying with one of them allows you to get an idea of the American way of life. Renowned for their hospitality, the Californians welcome you in a single room with half board or breakfast only provided, depending on your choice.

St. Giles also proposes the accommodation option of staying in a residence, with breakfast included, ten minutes' walk away from the school. The bedrooms, for single use, are well-equipped, each with a private bathroom, a TV, telephone, Internet access, microwave, fridge. In addition, the residents have access to the common kitchen for preparing their meals.

Leisure

The school gives you the opportunity to discover not only the city of San Francisco, but also to visit other destinations such as Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Yosemite National Park, Napa Valley and its vineyards or Lake Tahoe and Cruz, for skiing in winter. San Francisco remains an excellent base from which to explore California and its magnificent Pacific coast.
