The study centre is located in the heart of the city centre, only a few minutes' walk from the shops, cinema complexes, restaurants and cafés of Darling Harbour, the main train station as well as the central bus station, and the main tourist attractions. ELC offers a teaching method that is based on active learning. Work & Travel Company (WTC)
Following the English classes, Work and Travel Company proposes to you a job placement programme allowing you to discover Australia whist financing your travels thanks to paid jobs.

The programme includes:

• An individualised information and guidance meeting in the offices of our partner school
• The application for your "tax-file number", allowing you to work legally

The work
The jobs are mainly proposed in the following areas: tourism (bars, cafés, hotels, restaurants), office work (in a company, secretarial or reception work), hospital (nurse), call and goods handling centres. In Australia, you will be offered a salary of a minimum of AUD 12 per hour, with the average pay rate for WTC jobs being over AUD 18 per hour. The jobs proposed are of a duration of one day to three months, giving you the opportunity to increase the number of experiences, whilst travelling the country.

«Responsible Service of Alcohol»
Training for barman/barmaid
In most Australian states including New South Wales, the Australian government has made this course compulsory for all the participants who wish to work in the services and restaurant sector where alcohol is proposed. This course, which takes place over a day, covers the topics of responsibility during the serving of alcohol as well as the study of the rules and practices for the serving of all alcoholic drinks.

Accommodation

Host family
Living with a host family is a great way of immersing yourself in the Australian way of life during your stay in Sydney. You will stay in a single room with half board provided and will be around 30 minutes away from the school.

Student House ELC
The ELC language school proposes staying in one of its student houses, which have been renovated and are equipped to offer you a maximum of comfort. They have an excellent location, as they are all close to each other and only a 10 minutes' walk away from the school, just on the opposite side of Darling Harbour, in the centre of Sydney. You will stay in a single, double or triple room, and will share the modern facilities with your housemates, including the equipped kitchen, the two bathrooms, a lounge with a flat-screen TV and computer, the WiFi connection available throughout the building and you will have a magnetic card for accessing the residence.
Availability is limited and therefore, it is recommended to book in advance.

Residence "Glebe YHA"
Around 15 minutes away from the school by bus, in a laid-back district with plenty of cafés, restaurants and bars, this welcoming and comfortable youth hostel offers some single rooms but especially shared rooms (2 or 4 people) with shared bathrooms. The roof of the building houses a large terrace with an uninterrupted view of the city and where numerous barbeques and other events are organised by the friendly staff of the hostel. Those staying there can also meet up in the TV/video room, the games room or the Internet café.

Shared apartment
The very comfortable apartments offered to international students are located in a modern building in the centre of Sydney, 10 minutes’ walk from the language school building. Close to public transport, shops and restaurants, you will be staying in a single room in an apartment that you will share with 5 other students. The apartments are air-conditioned and include a large well-equipped kitchen. The 24h/24 reception desk, large social area, outdoor BBQ area, games area and TV lounge will allow you to get to know the other tenants quickly. Wi-Fi access is available in the common areas. There is a weekly housekeeping service and you will be able to use the coin-operated laundry facilities. The building also includes a bike storage room.
