International House Dublin boasts a central location in the Village Quarter district. St Stephen’s Green, a Victorian park of 11 hectares, is only a few minutes’ walk away. The area also has a hidden jewel, a lesser known garden called Iveagh Garden, where students often go for lunch. The school has 10 classrooms (20 additional classrooms used during the high season, located 10 minutes away), a student lounge, individual study areas and a computer room with free Internet access. In order to relax after classes, you can meet up with your new friends in the garden or on the school's terrace.

Our partner school, IH, offers an ideal study programme for long-term stays. You will be able to acquire sound language skills and validate them thanks to an official exam (Cambridge, IELTS). If your objective is to obtain an everyday command of English and to gain a deep understanding of the Irish mentality and lifestyle, what better way than to find a job! IH Dublin proposes a specific service, the «job club» which facilitates the access to information concerning student jobs. The school therefore serves as an interface for all those who wish to find a part-time job during their studies. The job club gives appointments to interested studenst for information on potential employers (bars, hotels, promotional work, boutiques, etc.) and informs the participants on the laws and modalities in force. Free of charge, the job club also offers a complementary personalised service for correcting/adapting the students' CVs.

Courses

Dublin abounds with job opportunities for students. For this reason, we have put in place, along with our partner schools, a specific service, the «Job Club». This meeting space offers a free interface between the local employment market and the student community. It is a effective exchange platform which, thanks to professional advice, the assistance of the school and the experience of former students, will allow you to find a job which is compatible with your studies and availability (in this case, the standard course will be the best suited). It is also a good opportunity to extend your stay following your academic course.

The Job Club meets regularly and all of the students interested can participate in it for free.
You will find there:
• advice for your job search
• current information on the jobs available in the city
• assistance for writing/correcting your CV
• useful information on the laws in force, employees' rights, insurances, minimum wage, etc.
• meetings during which various speakers will present the various job opportunities to you

Here are the main areas which offer numerous possibilities of finding a job:
Bars, hotels, cafés, restaurants, clubs, shops, services, administration, promotional work, distributing flyers, handling of goods, tourism, travel and sports events, etc. You are motivated, flexible and ready to dedicate the time required by your employer and by the job...Europe opens its arms to you!

Wages
The minimum wage in force in Ireland is approximately EUR 8.50/hour for an experienced person. Nevertheless, it may happen that some jobs or employers offer higher pay.

Accommodation

Host family
The school takes care of organising your accommodation for the whole duration of your stay in Ireland.You will therefore stay with a host family and benefit from half board during the first part of your stay. As soon as you are placed in a company, you have the possibility to extend your accommodation, as long as it is convenient for the place of work.

Shared apartments
For the most independent students, the option of shared accommodation is ideal. Located 10 minutes from the city centre and around twenty minutes' walk from the school, the apartments offer three comfortably furnished single rooms as well as a common room with an equipped kitchen and a shared bathroom.

Casa de familia
La escuela se ocupa de organizar su hospedaje por toda la duración de su estadía en Irlanda. Usted podrá alojarse en casa de familia y de beneficiarse de dos comidas durante la primera parte de su estadía. Luego de su puesto de trabajo en una empresa, usted tiene la posibilidad de extender su alojamiento si le conviene en relación a su lugar de trabajo.
