In an old magnificent country house in the suburbs of Spa, our partner school welcomes you with an expertise and methods famous for miles around. Next to the main building, which used to be the private residence of Belgian manufacturers, the school occupies two buildings. Above all, separating the students into two buildings is a way of preserving the language unity of the various groups who learn English, French, German or Dutch here. For your English language course, you will be taken care of from morning till evening for the whole of your stay in order to learn English and improve your communication skills. In the heart of this green property, you will benefit from excellent facilities, like well equipped classrooms, relaxation areas, and, in the summertime, a sports ground is available for squash, volleyball and tennis, as well as a mini-soccer playing field.

An innovative learning method defines the courses at Ceran: it is based on the effectiveness of the dialogue called “QRI” (Question-Answer-Modulation). The verbo-tonal method of phonetic correction complements language acquisition as it helps students perceiving sounds more accurately while improving their pronunciation.
The lessons are given in groups with a maximum of 9 students, divided into three categories according to their level. Whether you are a Benja (9-12 years), an Ados (13-15 years) or a Senior (16-17 years), you will follow an English course adapted to your age. For some, it will be the perfect complement to the school curriculum and for others, a preparation for college studies or for life in a foreign country. The teachers are experienced and will know how to motivate you and develop your skills by including “fun“ elements and active communication in their lessons. The lessons focus on learning the language through games and interaction to make significant progress!

Ados and Seniors can also take private lessons (from 2 to 8 private lessons a week), in addition to the group lessons.

Accommodation

Residence
You will be staying in the very comfortable residence of the school, very close to the building where the classrooms are. You will be accommodated in a double room with private bathroom that you will share with another student, and have the opportunity to practise English all day long. The teachers supervise every activity, from breakfast to dinner. The three daily meals are served in the residence; at lunch- and dinnertime, hot and cold buffets will allow you to eat balanced and varied food in a friendly atmosphere. The school staff stays on site to ensure the well-being and security of the students.

Leisure

The experienced activity coordinators offer daily activities on site or outside the course centre. They are included in the programme and are all conducted in English. Thus, you will be able to do karate, yoga, drama, and even create a piece of music. As regards sports, you will be offered climbing, fencing, swimming, French boxing and much more. Qualified staff members supervise all of these activities. If are keen on dance, you will be taught step dance, Latino dance styles, or modern dance. Unless you would prefer to attend the sculpture workshop? The end of the week is devoted to rest and culture: amusement parks or waterparks, touristic or cultural visits (Aachen, Liege, Brussels, etc.) to discover the best of the region that you are visiting.

Language & horse riding
If you love horses, you have the opportunity to combine your language lessons with a horse-riding course!
Everyday, during the week, you will attend the language classes in the morning, with the other students. In the afternoon, you will follow two hours of courses for beginners or experienced riders in a horse-riding centre near the school.
