Covering 166 hectares and situated only 20 minutes from the Santa Monica beaches, it is served well by public transport and easily accessible (around 30 minutes) from Los Angeles airport (LAX). The language school building has 13 classrooms and students will be able to make use out of the libraries and numerous sports facilities on campus. The campus is equipped with several sports centres, open-air swimming pools, tennis courts and basketball courts. If you are of Swiss or European nationality, no visa is necessary to participate in the programme, insofar as you are in possession of a valid biometric passport which is valid for at least six months following your return date, in accordance with current legislation. Nevertheless, the student will need to get an electronic travel authorisation to be completed on the Internet a minimum of one week prior to the departure. Daily schedule:
On the first day, you will sit a test in order to evaluate your language level. You will then be placed in a class of a maximum of 11 to 14 people, with other students of various nationalities who have the same level of English. You will have 20 English lessons of 50 minutes per week, in the morning from 9.00 to 12.45, and all of the necessary course material will be provided for you from the first lesson onwards, In addition to high-quality teaching, the ELC staff will propose extra-curricular activities to you, in the afternoon, the evening and at the weekend. Free time is also planned for and you will be able to choose to study or to relax by taking advantage of the university's sports facilities such as the swimming pool, the gym, the basketball or racquetball courts. All of the sports and cultural activities are organised and supervised by the school's activities coordinators and will give you the opportunity to practise what you will have learned during the morning classes, whilst discovering the numerous attractions the West Coast has to offer.
Accommodation
Residence
Students stay in a double room in the comfortable residence located 10 minutes' walk away from the language school building. The bedrooms are cleaned every week and are well-equipped, with 2 desks, 2 wardrobes, a telephone and Internet access. Shared bathrooms are located on each floor. You will also find a student lounge where you can go to chat with your friends. Full board is provided from Monday to Friday and breakfast at the weekend before going on excursions. The ELC activities coordinators as well as the ESL group leader also stay in the residence in order to watch out for the well-being and safety of the students.

Leisure
After classes, you will meet up with your friends for afternoon activities. You will be able to choose from the following activities: swimming pool, beach volleyball, basketball, football, dodgeball, ultimate frisbee. Going to the beach is obviously also on the programme, with the famous beaches of Santa Monica and Venice Beach. You will have free time in the evenings to be able to take advantage of the campus facilities (swimming pool, gym, basketball or racquetball courts) in order to enjoy yourself with your friends. Excursions will also be proposed to you in order to discover the J Paul Getty museum, Disneyland, Universal Studios, Hollywood, Melrose, LA city centre or Santa Barbara for example. With so many leisure possibilities and its unique location, Los Angeles-Westwood is the dream location for enjoying yourself and discovering Southern California. Enjoy!
