Our partner language school, which welcomes students from 15 years upwards, is located in the city centre of Freiburg. All of the attractions and curiosities of this small city are less than 15 minutes’ walk away. Housed in a beautiful three-storey neoclassical-style building, the school includes 13 light classrooms and a study room, which makes the German classes very pleasant. You will be able to relax in the cafeteria and on the large terrace, and to read your e-mails in the Internet room. The teachers have sound experience and with their pedagogical know-how, they are the key to the success of this school which likes to think of itself as being close to its students, but particularly teenagers and young adults. Therefore, you will find teachers here who are very attentive and ready to support you in learning German. The school is also reputed for the diversity of its students, their various backgrounds and nationalities, a real window onto the world!

Schedule: standard: 9 a.m.-1.30 p.m. or 12.45 a.m.-5.15 p.m.
                 intensive: 9 a.m.-1.30 p.m. and 2.30 p.m.-3.15 p.m.

In order to reach your linguistic objectives, you will follow an intensive German course. The classes are made up of a maximum of 12 students and include 25 lessons per week. The lessons take place from 9 a.m. and 1.30 p.m., except during the high season, when they may take place in the afternoon. If you opt for the intensive option with 30 lessons, you will attend additional classes in small groups, with a maximum of 7 students, in the afternoon, from 2.30 p.m. to 3.15 p.m. The teaching is based on a methodology which is especially adapted to international students. The extended duration of this programme and the reduced size of the classes guarantee an individual follow-up of your progress. This programme will allow to reach a sound language level. At the end of your course, a certificate attesting to your level will be awarded to you.

Accommodation

You will stay with a host family in a single room with full board provided. In most cases, you will share the bathroom with the host family. The families are selected with care and are inspected regularly in order to guarantee quality and the best environment possible for the duration of your stay. The bedrooms are furnished and bedlinen is provided. The bathroom is generally to be shared with the host family. In Freiburg, most of the families live within a perimeter of approx. 30 minutes of the school. You will appreciate the hospitality of the inhabitants and the possibility to practise the language itself after your classes. If you are staying in Freiburg for a language study stay of several months, the host family will become an important element of your German learning.

Leisure

In this dynamic city, the school organises social activities to allow students to practise German in an authentic and relaxed setting: during film projections or the convivial “Stammtisch”, which gathers students and teachers in a café in the town once a week. The school’s leisure coordinator will give you information about the numerous sports activities and current cultural events in Freiburg. Each week, the school also offers an excursion in the surroundings of Freiburg (Black Forest, Colmar, Strasburg). Participate in whichever ones you wish together with your new international friends. What great opportunities for practising the German language!

Please note: The school recommends to students to buy a regio card which allows them to use all public transport, including the train within a perimeter of 30km, for around 50 EUR per month. The bicycle is also a popular means of transport and which is totally suited to this city.
