Our partner school in Westerwald welcomes students aged between 10 and 17 years for German or English courses of all levels. The classrooms are spacious and well-equipped. The course centre also has a computer room with Internet access, 2 restaurants, a swimming pool, bowling lanes, table tennis tables, an indoor sports hall with astroturf, as well as 2 tennis courts and a multi-sport field outside. Student stay on-site and are taken care of by the ESL supervision team.

As soon as they arrive in Westerwald, the students will sit a test in order to evaluate their level of German and in this way, they are placed in a suitable class. The course material is also provided. The German lessons take place in the morning, from 8.30 to 11.45. The 20 weekly class periods last for 45 minutes each (or 25 in the intensive programme, until 12.30). They combine the learning of the language thanks to communication and the putting into practice by interactive group activities. A mini-test will take place on Wednesday mornings in order to account for what has already been learned. A more important evaluation will take place every Friday in order to evaluate the progress made, week after week. All of the teachers are qualified and experienced and will do everything so that their teaching is motivating, fun and personalised. At the end of their stay, the students receive a certificate attesting to their level of German.

Accommodation

Residence
At the crossroads of the Rhine and the wooded hills of the “Rhein-Westerwald” natural park, the language course centre proposes accommodation in a very comfortable residence. The triple rooms each have a private bathroom. The accommodation in the residence includes full board and bedlinen is provided. You will need to bring your own bath and beach towels. All of the staff also stay in the course centre.

Leisure

When the students arrive at the residence, a welcome evening is organised. Throughout their stay, the activities coordinators propose a large choice of activities included in the programme, for all tastes: oceanographic park, boat excursion on the Rhine, shopping, visit to the chocolate museum or to the zoo in Cologne, etc. As regards sports, students can take advantage of the vast leisure area and of the various sports facilities available in the course centre, including a football hall, a swimming pool, bowling lanes, tennis and table tennis. The environment of the course centre offers a multitude of additional outdoor activities. Besides, its closeness to Cologne and Bonn ensures cultural variety and entertainment for the students. In addition to the standard activities programme offered, optional activities will be proposed on-site for the more adventurous (mountain biking, horse riding, water park, etc.).
