School

The school is housed in a beautiful 19th century building in the heart of the historic part of the city, thereby making all the interesting places in the city easily accessible on foot. The classrooms, video room, the computer area (with free Internet access), the canteen and the residence are all located on the same site, spread out over five floors which surround a patio. On the school grounds, behind the beautiful 15th-century San Bernardas church, you will also be able to make use out of several sports grounds, including for football, basketball, handball and volleyball unless you would prefer to practise playing Basque pelota on the “fronton”.

Courses

Standard course
Lessons: 20 of 45 minutes
Course duration: 2 / 4 / 6 week(s)
Level: Beginner to Advanced
Students/class: max. 14 people
Minimum age: 13 years
Daily schedule:

Lessons: 20 of 45 minutes
Levels: beginner to advanced
Students/class: max. 14
Schedule: 9.30 a.m.-1.00 p.m.

You will have 20 Spanish lessons per week. The classes last 45 minutes each and take place in the mornings, from 9:30 to 13:00, with a 30-minute break (from 11:00 to 11:30). The lessons are given by experienced and competent teachers. There are no more than 14 students per class, which allows the teacher to provide personal attention to each student. Integrating role-plays, workshops and group work, the teaching is lively and modern and the subjects are especially chosen to encourage communication, listening and interaction among students. On the first day of class, you will sit an evaluation test. You will then be placed in a class where you will join other international students of the same level.

Accommodation

Residence“Calasanz”
Located on the same site as the school, students stay in double rooms and have the use of a desk for studying and a wardrobe for storing their clothes. Bathrooms are shared and are located in the corridor. Living in the same residence as other international and local students is an opportunityto be able to share different points of view and cultures and to make friends whilst forgetting any borders. The group leaders in charge of supervising the students also live in the residence and are available on a 24-hour basis. Full board is provided and all meals are served at the residence’s canteen.

Leisure

Art workshops
Different workshops will be offered to you in the afternoons. These group activities are an opportunity to meet other students from the school and to practise your Spanish outside of class in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Sports
If you would like to try "Basque pelota", go for it! It's the best way to let off steam after class. Numerous other sports (football, basketball, volleyball, handball, badminton, swimming...) and various group games are offered every afternoon. All of these activities are organised and supervised by the school staff, who will watch over the safety and well-being of the students.

Evening activities
The social programme of the course also includes numerous evening activities. Organised by the school's activity coordinators, the evening activities will give you an opportunity to get to know the other international students of the school better and to have a great time with your friends.

Excursions
There's no risk of you getting bored in Salamanca as 2 half days and one full day per week are dedicated to excursions. You will discover the magnificent heritage of Castile and León with your friends and staff from the school. Visits to the two cathedrals, the Casa de las Conchas and the famous University are, of course, scheduled, but numerous surprises also await you outside of Salamanca, including Avila or Burgos, the Roman Aqueduct of Segovia, the picturesque villages of La Alberca and Alba de Tormes or Ciudad Rodrigo, on the Portuguese border.

Optional sports
You can practise your favourite sport for 2 weeks, in addition to the activities’ programme offered by the school. All necessary equipment is provided on site.
Tennis: 10 hours over 2 weeks
Horse riding: 9 hours over 2 weeks
