Course combined with a voluntary work programme
This is the ideal opportunity to combined Spanish classes with practical experience. Volunteer work also offers the opportunity to bridge the gap which often exists between natives and foreign visitors.

Volunteer projects offered:

Work with unsupervised children, assistance with homework, arts and crafts, body expression. Monday to Friday, 8.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.
Taking part in an insertion project for children and teenagers from disadvantaged families (discussion workshops and conferences). Monday to Friday, 8.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.
Assistance in organising the sports programmes proposed by the University of Guanajuato: organising sporting events (gymnastics, swimming, athletics, ball games), promoting sports among the university students or in other universities. From February to June only, Monday to Friday, 09.00 to 3.00 p.m.

Programme requirements:

minimum age : 18
Minimum of 4 weeks of Spanish courses, level required : intermediate
Minimum of 4 weeks of voluntary work
Accommodation in apartments
CV and cover letter with preferred field of activity (in Spanish)
Previous experience in the chosen field of activity is a bonus
Conditions for a stay of more than 3 months : leave and re enter the territory to extend the visa for another three months

Accommodation

Host family
Staying with a host family will help you to make the most out of your language course, allowing you to have direct contact with the everyday life of the country’s inhabitants. You will stay in a single room with breakfast only or half board provided. The host families generally live around 30 minutes away from the school.

Shared apartment
This is a very popular accommodation option. You will share an apartment with 4 or 5 other international students from the school. You will have a single room and will share the kitchen, living room and bathroom. Apartments are equipped with TV and washing machine. A housekeeper will clean the apartment once a week.
