Language school St-Julians
Family programme (8-17 years)

We offer active family holidays in the sun, splashing around in the water, while enjoying English courses in the morning. The family programme offers you the possibility to combine a language course, activities proposed by the school, and free time for discovering the island and enjoying a family holiday. This programme is open to everybody: to parents and to children and teenagers from 8 to 17 years.

Courses

Programmes are designed so that each family member can follow a language programme suitable for their age group and so that everyone can meet after lessons to spend free time as a family.

Summer camp (8-13 years)
Learning a language does not only take place in class. The four daily lessons of 45 minutes are given at San Andrea school. Lessons are given in a lively manner, dealing with interesting themes of daily life, in order to stimulate the minds of the youngest students. A bus comes to collect them at 08.15 at the adults' centre in order to take them to the school. Lessons finish at 12.30 and students go to eat a meal together. A bus is organized to return them to the adult school to join their parents at 14.30.

Juniors (13-17 years)
Lessons are given by teachers with English as their mother tongue, using engaging and playful educational methods so that language study remains a pleasure. Participants travel to their lessons on the bus organized by the school. The bus goes to the adult school (meeting place). After the midday meal, students are taken to participate in afternoon activities. They are then taken to the adult school to join their parents at the end of the afternoon. Evening activities are therefore optional. (For more information, see p6-7).

Adults
Parents will also have the opportunity to improve their English with programmes offered by the adult school. Courses consist of 30 lessons of 45 minutes per week which will enable you to consolidate your linguistic skills and to finish lessons at the same time as your children (8-13 years old). You will therefore have the whole afternoon and evening to enjoy your free time at the seaside as a family.

Accomodation

With the intention of offering you the necessary comfort and independence to enjoy your holidays in Malta, we offer you accommodation in a hotel or in a furnished apartment. Apartments at St Julians are located 20 minutes by foot from the adult school, the meeting place for parents and children taking part in the family programme. They are located just 2 minutes from Balluta Bay from where you can also take the bus to go to the school or to La Valette. Numerous bars, restaurants and cafes can be found nearby. The accommodation complex is modern and consists of a block of 17 family apartments for 2, 4, or 6 people, fully equipped with a kitchenette, a bathroom and a dining room. The apartments also have a balcony - some of which have a view out onto the Mediterranean. There is also a terrace on the roof where you can relax, sunbathe and enjoy a superb view onto St Julians and Balluta Bay. A weekly cleaning service is provided (changing of sheets and towels). We recommend that you bring your own towel however, for going to the beach. Finally, it is possible to rent a television for a small fee.

Leisure

An activity programme is planned in the afternoons for 13-17 year olds. Teenagers get together after lessons to do sport or to visit local attractions. These activities are organized and supervised by the centre's staff until the end of the afternoon, when the student is taken to the adult school. The youngest are taken to the adult school at 14.30 so that they can enjoy the afternoon with their parents.
Malta has a wide range of leisure possibilities. The towns are very lively as a result of numerous international students who come to learn English. The crystal waters of the bay are suitable for diving and other nautical activities. The rocky or sandy beaches form a perfect playground for the summer. On the other hand, Malta is also an island of discovery, of churches and monuments, relics of the past, evidence of the passage of numerous empires who dreamed of one day dominating the Mediterranean.
