School
MW Summer SchoolHoused in a magnificent building in classical style, our partner school offers a prestigious setting for learning English. The strength of this establishment lies in a rich choice of sports and complementary activities, offered parallel to studies. With its own tennis courts, an outdoor heated pool, a gym and more than 20 hectares of grounds for extra-curricular activities, the school offers from 1 to 6 weeks of language course combined with sports or artistic options. Everything is organized to enable us to offer high quality teaching. Mornings are dedicated to learning English in class taught by highly qualified teachers, while the afternoons are an opportunity to practise the language whilst doing activities. Whether you choose multi-activity programmes, tennis, dance, golf, sailing, horse-riding, arts and design or summer complementary studies, you will be surrounded by an enthusiastic and specialized staff.
Courses
Summer programmes include 15 periods of 60 minutes of general English lessons per week, given in classes of no more than 12 people. This academic environment guarantees teaching quality and allows the teacher to give individual attention to each student. Teaching is lively and modern, communication and interaction between students encouraged by a stimulating atmosphere. Specialized afternoon activities (sporty or artistic) allow students of all nationalities to meet and thus to put into practise what they have learnt in the morning, in a motivating context and with professional supervision. At the end of their stay, each student receives a certificate attesting their level of English.Accommodation
ResidenceStudents of 13 years and over sleep in a residence in rooms of 1, 2 or 3 people. The youngest sleep in rooms in small groups. Each room has a shared bathroom. The well-being and health of students are supervised 24/7 by qualified monitors.
Leisure
In addition to afternoons of specialized activities, Wednesday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday are dedicated to "heritage" excursions for discovering the region and heritage in the Wiltshire area. Themed parties, discos and barbecues are additional perfect opportunities to meet students of all nationalities and to practise your English.Multi-activities
Benefit from the summer for undertaking a different activity every evening, chosen from a wide range of options including football, tennis, basketball, uni-hockey, badminton, volleyball, swimming, arts and crafts. All this is combined with the aim of giving you the most memorable holiday possible.
Tennis
This option is for you if you would like to improve your English as much as your backhand. Four afternoons per week, you will benefit from two hours of practice on a tennis court. Exercises and matches, as well as the advice of your teacher will allow you to get the best out of your racket.
Dance
If the morning enables you to improve your expression in English, use the afternoon to allow your body to express itself through dance. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, a professional studio will welcome you four afternoons per week for two hours in order to learn movements and coordination to music and rhythms.
Golf
Golf lessons at all levels take place in the excellent Frome Golf Club, supervised by a qualified PGA teacher. Two hours of practice four afternoons a week, as well as video analyses will allow you to improve your technique and will give you the opportunity to compete with others directly on the green.
Sailing
With the supervision of qualified instructors in one of the local sailing clubs, you will be able to learn the basics of navigation and sailing techniques. Other nautical sports are also available on request.
Horse riding
In a nearby equestrian centre, beginners enjoy learning to horse ride for four hours per week, while the more experienced have the opportunity to perfect their skills, and perhaps even to have a go at the advanced technique of jumping.
Art and design
Learn art and painting, different composition techniques and the use of colour. You will spend three hours three times per week learning to paint with oil or acrylic, discussing art or visiting local galleries.
Summer studies
This option is ideal for allowing you to learn English while improving your academic capacities in an interesting and playful way. The timetables are quite similar to those of a British school with subjects such as sciences, computing, maths, geography or art, for example. This option is particularly devoted to introducing students to the English academic system. But be reassured, it is not all studies, as from 16.00 you will have the opportunity to join in with the multi-sport activities of the other programmes.
