ESL – École Suisse de Langues

Thanks to the course centre's ideal location, which is only 5 minutes' walk away from the centre of the village, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to facilities. Within a radius of 250 metres, you will find shops, a swimming pool, a climbing wal, tennis and squash courts, a fitness centre, ski-tows and much more besides.In addition to the classrooms, the course centre is equipped with a recreation room, bedrooms and a dining room. Even the local cinema is located in the same building. These conditions guarantee you enjoyment and successful learning, the most important thing for the success of your language study stay.

Courses

Standard course
During your first day of classes, you will sit a small language test thanks to which you will then be placed in a class corresponding to your language level. This course consists of 20 lessons of 45 minutes per week and the maximum number of students per class is 14. Teaching takes place in French only and classes are given by native French-speaking teachers.

Communication course
This course allows you to practise everyday oral communication thanks to the use of role plays. It takes place twice a week and each lessons lasts for 45 minutes.

One-to-one course
A one-to-one course allows you to deepen your language knowledge in an individual and particularly intensive way. This course consists of 5 lessons of 45 minutes per week. (Few available places).

English course
Our partner school also proposes English courses for groups of a mimimum of 12 people each. Contact us for more precise information!

Please note: it is not possible to take a communication course and a one-to-one course lesson in the same week.

Accommodation

Residence (spring and summer)
Only a few steps away from the course centre, students stay in a comfortable residence. The double or triple bedrooms are modern and are all equipped with a private bathroom, a television and a telephone. All meals, which are prepared using regional or international recipes, are served in the restaurant of the residence. During your free time, your friends and you will be able to make use out of the available facilities, including an Internet café and a common room. The young students are supervised on a 24-hour basis by the camp's group leaders who stay on-site.

Residence "Central" (autumn)
Students stay at the heart of the Leysin resort, in a comfortable and welcoming hotel-residence. Each bedroom consists of 4 beds, a bathroom and a balcony. Prepared using regional and international recipes, all meals will be served to your in the residence's dining hall. You will also be able to make use out of the indoor swimming pool and the games room. The school's group leaders take charge of watching over the students and also live in the residence, making them available to students on a 24-hour basis.

Leisure

The school proposes a wide choice of afternoon activities. Sports facilities are all within easy reach and visits to allow you to better discover the Lake Geneva region are organised. In the evening, discos and games are on the agenda. On Sundays, full-day excursions are organised, for example to Montreux/Vevey, Le Bouveret or Gruyères. You might also visit one of the region's museums, such as the Olympics Museum in Lausanne, the Alimentarium in Vevey or even the Château de Chillon. Water sports and swimming are also on the programme. Optional activities, such as tennis or horse-riding, need to be booked in advance whilst others (curling, yoga, Aquaparc, shopping in Lausanne etc.) may be organised on site.

Please note: it is not possible to combine either two optional activities or an optional activity and a communication or one-to-one course lesson in the same week.
