School

Our partner school is located in the city centre, a few minutes away from the train station. You will find all you need, including cinemas, cafés, restaurants and shops, only a stone's throw away from the language school building. DID Wiesbaden is a school which is specialised in the teaching of German to young students between 14 and 17 years. The school has the distinctive feature of being open throughout the year for short-term or long-term courses. This represents a particularly interesting opportunity to perfect your German language knowledge in a welcoming environment. For example, you will be able to enjoy your holidays for a short-term stay in total immersion or enjoy a longer "break" in order to experience long-term stay of several months. The school has bright and spacious classrooms, a cafeteria, a multimedia room as well as a library which you will be able to use for your personal work.

Courses

The programme of 24 lessons of 45 minutes per week is based on a modern and fun learning method. On the one hand, you will have general German classes, be it grammar, vocabulary or conversation, everything will be covered! On the other hand, you will discover the German culture through role plays and group discussions. In this way, along with your classmates of 14 to 17 years, you will concentrate on the most important part of learning the German language which is the desire to learn a foreign language and to be able to use it. Especially outside of the high season (July-August), the extended duration of this programme and the reduced class sizes allow the teachers to follow your progress in and the acquisition of the German language individually. This programme will allow you to reach a strong language level.

Accommodation

Host family
Accommodation with a host family is proposed, which allows you to have better immersion in the German way of life and culture. The families are selected with care and are regularly inspected in order to guarantee quality and the best possible environment for the duration of your stay. The bedrooms are completely furnished and you will normally share your bedroom with another foreign student but on request, you will be able to benefit from a single room (except during the high season). You generally share the bathroom with the family, The family will prepare breakfast and an evening meal for you each day as well as a packed lunch for lunchtime.

Leisure

In the afternoon, twice a week, the school organises cultural and sports activities for you. Museum visits or half-day excursions will allow you to discover the city and German culture, whilst sports activities will be the opportunity to relax and to meet students of all nationalities. These activities are free and always supervised by an activity leader, who will also advise you on leisure activities and entertainment possibilities for during your spare time. On request, with the help of the course director and your host family, you will be able to organise yourself, or with friends, a full-day excursion. Wiesbaden is an attractive, rich and varied city, so make the most out of your stay in order to discover it with your classmates from throughout the world!
Please note: during the high season, students benefit from three activities per week and a full-day excursion on Saturdays!
