Located on the north-eastern extremity of the lake that bears its name, Zug stretches out across the gardens and orchards of the wooded foothills of Zugerberg. The canton capital boasts a favourable geographic situation in the heart of Switzerland, from where you can reach Lucerne in less than 30 minutes and Zurich in less than an hour. The walk along the quays offers an uninterrupted view of the peaks of the Swiss central (Pilate, Bürgenstock, Stanserhorn) and the Bernese Alps (Jungfrau, Blümlisalp, Finsteraarhorn). Add to this the blue waters of the lake, the green hills that dominate the Rigi and the charm of the historic part of town: so many attractions to tempt the traveller. Nestled between lake and mountains, Zug provides an idyllic and safe setting for learning German in one of Switzerland’s most peaceful towns.
