Torre di Babele Refresher Course for Teachers of Italian Abroad
This course gives teachers of Italian from different countries the possibility to exchange views and experiences and to get an update on teaching Italian in a rigorous and creative way. At the same time it offers an enjoyable and interesting update on the arts and important cultural issues through seminars, meetings and guided tours.
The course includes various interesting subjects such as: grammar, poetry, project work, wines seminars, creating teaching materials, guided tours of Rome which is known as the largest open museum in the world. As for grammar, teachers will have the possibility to develop deeper knowledge on some critical issues such as the subjunctive or time and mode agreement, and to experience new creative ways of teaching them. Discover the complex and creative process behind the planning of a teaching unit.
Central topics of the course include: how to develop new materials, how to teach contemporary poetry, how to encourage student to write for pleasure, how to teach following the methodology of project work.
The course is divided into daily topics: lessons follow an approach based on dialogical exchange and are characterized by peer-work, theoretical lessons and practical work, workshops and guided tours. Take the opportunity to update and confront the different
approaches and experiences of classroom teaching based on the assumption of Action Research: teaching as a link between theory and practice.
