Language studies in Salamanca

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Salamanca is the most ancient university city in Spain and the place where Castilian was declared as the official language of Spain. The work written by Antonio de Nebrija in 1492 became the fundamental instrument for its expansion throughout the world.
A cosmopolitan city which has never forgotten its traditions, Salamanca is a marvel to the eyes. A magnificent city made worthy of man, it will overwhelm you with its rich heritage and its openness to the world which characterises the spirit of its inhabitants. Salamanca is also a modern city which never rests. Here, the night attracts and disconcerts you. You will be tempted by the numerous cafés and tapas bars which help give Castilian cuisine its respectability and creativity. You will be able to walk along the banks of the Tormes River, cross over the Roman bridge, the legacy of the Via de la Plata and the Camino de Santiago. Here, everyday is a new beginning in the city's history.
