Sabbatical year, Gap Year, Long stay: Job placement Bournemouth

The programme (Fast Track to Work)
Language learning can take many forms but at ESL we know living through the new language is definitely the fastest path towards success. This is why we – along with our partner schools – have decided to create a tailor-made solution for those students who not only need to improve their English, but also want to earn some money while building their CV.

The hotel and hospitality industry in Bournemouth is booming, which means it offers plenty of opportunities for international students looking to combine their language courses with paid work experience.

By choosing to participate in our Job Placement programme in Bournemouth you will:

  • Do a 4-week language course with specific training in English for the hospitality industry as well as invaluable guidance on creating your CV and interview practise
  • Be matched with a position that fits your needs and abilities in one of our partner hotels, where you will first have a one-week trial period* that will allow you and your employer to confirm your suitability
  • Enjoy a full-time position – 35-40 hours per week – in order to make the most of your stay by experiencing regular UK working conditions and maximizing opportunities to practise our English
  • Decide the length of your stay from 12 weeks on – most positions are permanent and open-ended, but employers do prefer candidates that can commit to at least 6 months
  • Receive an average UK salary (minimum wage is GBP 6.45/hour for those aged 18-20; GBP 8.20/hour for those aged 21-24 and GBP 8.72/hour for those aged 25+) which you can add to by working overtime

*Please note this one-week trial period is unpaid
