CAE - Certificate in Advanced English

The C1 Advanced, commonly called “Advanced”, is a high level exam. It allows for official confirmation of an advanced level of English (level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

Who is the C1 Advanced (Certificate in Advanced English) for?
The C1 Advanced is strongly recommended for anyone who plans to work in international business or to work overseas and/or study at university. In Great Britain and in the Anglo-Saxon countries, a large number of universities use the C1 Advanced to certify a candidate’s level of English, a necessary condition for his/her admission into higher education.

Level required?
To sit for the C1 Advanced, your level of English must allow you:

- to be able to overcome a wide range of difficulties in understanding long and demanding texts from a linguistic point of view and to grasp their implicit meaning.
- to express yourself with ease and spontaneity without having to search for words.
- to use language tools with efficiency and fluency in specific social and professional contexts, or in a particular field of higher education or university studies.
- to approach complex subjects in a clear, structured and detailed manner, and to be able to relate different subjects using diverse and appropriate linguistic tools.

Preparation for C1 Advanced (Certificate in Advanced English)
A preparatory course is often necessary in order to refresh or consolidate your current linguistic level and also to enable you to adapt to the particular demands of the C1 Advanced.
There are numerous course options- varying in intensity and duration – available to you in order to prepare for the C1 Advanced:
- It is generally necessary to take 12 or 10 weeks to prepare seriously and completely for the C1 Advanced.
- Intensive courses of three or four weeks’ duration are also available.
- The “At the teacher’s home” courses also offer a very intensive and “tailor-made” preparation option.
