This year, the 5th edition of the ESL Workshop was held in beautiful Sitges (Barcelona). What’s more, this was the third year for the ESL Language Travel Awards, a glamorous gala night celebrating our partner schools where awards are based on student feedback from the previous year. ESL is excited to announce the sponsorship of the 2017 Enlightened Employer Award at the Women in Education Awards. Organised by Lead5050, a non-profit group that supports women in the industry of international education and their promotion into leadership roles, the awards ceremony is an event we’re happy to take part in!

ESL – Language Studies Abroad has announced the selection of its new executive director, Anke Menkhorst, who will be responsible for helping the company reach its ambitious growth objectives. Patrick Siegenthaler, her predecessor and co-founder of ESL, will assume the role of Chairman of the Board.
 
With more than 20 years of experience in the sectors of business and marketing, Anke Menkhorst has been at the head of many important international businesses throughout her professional career. 

Coinciding with its 20th anniversary, ESL launched the brand new ESL Language Travel Awards. This recognition, whose finalists and winners were announced during the gala night of the ESL International Workshop in Montreux, rewards those schools that had an outstanding performance during the previous year.

ESL also launched the new ESL Certificates of Excellence, which were assigned to schools based solely on the ratings and reviews received by students in 2016. The Certificate of Excellence badge will be posted on the page of the awarded schools for the entire year.

For the 5th time, ESL won the title of “Star Agency Western Europe” at the Study Travel Star Awards, which took place on 3rd September 2016 in London.

This new prize allows ESL to be included among the prestigious agencies in the educational tourism industry having received the “Lifetime Award” which recognises the excellent service provided by professionals in the language travel sector.

For the 11th time in a row, ESL has been nominated by language schools as one of the five leading language travel agencies in Europe at the annual STM Star Awards. It has been more than a decade of great success!

These awards, like the Oscars of the study abroad industry, are recognition of the hard work and the commitment of everyone working in this industry.

The winners will be chosen by hundreds of language schools from around the world and will be announced on September.
