Not only did our partner school choose one of the most attractive cities in the world, it established itself in Vancouver’s most beautiful district: Gastown. The whole area is a cauldron of history and culture. Take a stroll around the neighbouring streets and wonder at the multitude of period buildings, art studios, hip restaurants and fabulous boutiques. Just steps from the famous steam clock, the school occupies the first floor of a beautifully renovated heritage building. In its 8 bright classrooms, teachers share their passion for the English language with students from all over the world. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the building. In the language lab, learning materials and computers are available. In the mornings, coffee, tea and snacks are offered. Students can also hang out in the student lounge and use the DVD players, flat screen TVs, as well as the fridge and microwave ovens.

OHC, Vancouver
Duration: 12 weeks

OHC Vancouver is a great place to study English. Teachers are very nice and the atmosphere is relaxed and we have a lot of good laughs! It’s a small school but it’s good to have smaller classes; you learn better and faster. Vancouver is a really great city with a lot of nature around!
I would recommend this school if you want to have a nice time with nice people."

OHC, Vancouver
Duration: 15 weeks

My 15 weeks in Vancouver were the best experience of my life! I chose OHC school, perfectly located in the pretty Gastown neighbourhood. It is a small school, which gives you the opportunity to meet all the students in a “family” atmosphere. Many activities were organised by the school. I lived in a host family, which turned out to be like a second family! Vancouver is a perfect town for many activities, like for example bike rides in Stanley Park, shopping in the city centre, beer drinking in the many microbreweries as well as various things - or outside the city but close to it: a road trip in the Rocky Mountains, a ski ride in Whistler or in the North Vancouver mountains, kayak in Deep Cove, whale or bear watching in Tofino etc. Canadians are known for being welcoming and nice, I can only confirm it! My English improved, my self-confidence as well and, most of all, I have friends from all over the globe! I am already organising my next stay.

Host family
Staying with a host family is the best way for you to dive into Canadian culture and practise English in everyday situations. You'll stay in a single bedroom (double/twin room for people travelling together) and share the common areas with your host family, who will provide full board or half-board for you. Canadian host families are famous for their warm welcomes. They're carefully selected by our partner school and live between 10 and 40 minutes from the course centre by public transport.

Student House (from 19 years)
Enjoy this comfortable accommodation in the heart of a safe and green neighbourhood! The language school is located 35 minutes by bus from the Student House, which offers 2 twin rooms (to be shared with a student of the same gender if you're travelling alone), 6 single rooms as well as 2 bathrooms and a spacious kitchen where you'll prepare and have your meals with the other international students. The house also has a terrace to enjoy the sun, a garden, a big lounge and laundry facilities.

Learning doesn't stop once you step outside the classrooms. Whether you are of the daring or not-so-daring kind, you can of course set off to explore the city on your own, starting with the school’s neighborhood, considered the most beautiful in Vancouver. Then discover the various facets of the city between the sea and the mountains, its cosmopolitan charm and exceptional tourist attractions. Vancouver seduces its visitors in all seasons! Activities and excursions are also a great way to learn about Canadian culture, make new friends and practice your English. As a student, you will have the opportunity to experience many different activities, excursions and events each week. Be prepared to open your mind to the many new experiences and adventures you will have. During the week, activities are arranged after classes and in the evenings. You can also purchase tickets for day trips to experience other cities or major attractions for a small fee.
