An hour from London, Oxford is a beautiful, vibrant university city with a rich cultural heritage. With a first-class learning environment, our partner school is located in the city centre with restaurants, cafés, shops, cinemas, theatres and universities right on the doorstep. The school occupies 2 buildings, a 5-minute walk from each other and both with bright, spacious classrooms equipped with interactive whiteboards, computer learning centres and free Wi-Fi throughout. The school is the official IELTS test centre for the Oxford region, a testament to the quality of its courses, and many of its teachers are also official examiners. The school also offers a unique English Plus Art & Design course, with art classes taking place in the art studio at its sister school, an international college 20 minutes away by bus (St Josephs). The school offers a vibrant social programme, which also includes weekly lectures and language clinics.

Top tips

Undoubtedly the time I spent in Oxford was enriching and obviously useful for my future. Definitely, I'm improved my English although also it was a really good experience such as meeting many people from different countries, having some great times with them, sharing a variety of interesting ideas and opinions. To anybody who wants to learn English in a city that has an very interesting history: I'd recommend studying in Oxford and particularly at Kings Oxford. You will improve your level quickly, in a good atmosphere, with competent teachers and services. You are here to study ! One thing is sure, I'll be back in Oxford. I will surely miss my friends from Oxford. Thank you very much for your hospitality and your expertise.

Kings, Oxford
Duration: 12 weeks

I’m staying in Oxford for three months and am living in a student house.
I chose to live in a student house and not a host family as I like to be independent. We share the kitchen, bathroom and living room, but all have our own space too.

The reason I came to Oxford was because I wanted to learn English, especially to improve my speaking and writing, and Kings College is a good school. I also chose Oxford as I think the English is better than in London!

The teachers are funny and very nice, they help us all as much as possible. It’s my first time in Oxford and I’m really happy with my course.

The sense of history is all around you in the beautiful, ancient university buildings, yet Oxford is also a very modern city with a thriving live music scene, great shopping and unique cafes, bars and restaurants. Oxford offers a fantastic combination of culture, sport and fun with a rich choice of museums, theatre and cinema, vibrant student nightlife and excellent shopping. The school offers a very varied weekly social programme: football, basketball, tennis, ice-skating, salsa lessons, karaoke, greyhound racing, university college tours and cultural lectures are just a few of the activities on offer. Many are free and some have a small entrance fee. Only one hour from London, Oxford is also the ideal base from which to explore the south of England and optional full day excursions to places of interest are offered at an additional cost every weekend. These include: Brighton, Stratford, Warwick Castle, London, Bath, Salisbury, Stonehenge and Windsor. And of course, no visit to Oxford in the summer would be complete without an attempt at punting on the river!
