Just steps from San Francisco’s emblematic Pier 39 full of shops and restaurants, this English language school is right in the heart of charming Fisherman’s Wharf. Occupying the 2nd floor of a beautiful modern building with waterfront views, the school is comprised of 6 classrooms, a computer lab and a student lounge with a Ping-Pong table, with free Wi-Fi throughout. The building also hosts American university students so you’ll have the opportunity to practise your English with locals! The school is surrounded by public transport options, including several bus lines as well as a stop for San Francisco’s iconic streetcar. You can also catch the ferry to Alcatraz Island just outside the school or hop on the bus to the Golden Gate Bridge!

Wunderschöne Stadt, offenherzige Leute, allerdings sehr teuer! Super nettes Personal!!

LSISan Diego & Embassy EnglishSan Francisco
Duration: 8 months

8 months in San Diego and San Francisco – what more could you ask for? I’ve been living the American Dream for the past few months thanks to ESL’s advice and my excellent course. San Diego is perfect for a long language study stay. The weather is almost always great, the people are always cheerful and there is always something going on in town. The LSI language school made this stay unforgettable. I significantly improved thanks to great teachers and a great course. At the end of the course I did a 4 month internship at BMW in San Francisco. A placement in one of the most beautiful cities in the world at one of the best known companies in the world – truly amazing! The internship was perfect for practising and perfecting my English outside school. Thanks for everything ESL!

Host family
Our partner school carefully selects host families who can provide an authentic setting and a single/shared bedroom for students during their language study stay. Students are provided with breakfast every morning and have the privilege of sharing a full evening meal with the host each night. Most host families live in small buildings of the 1930s/40s in Victorian or Art Deco style with one bathroom, which you will use in common with your hosts. Bedlinen and towels are provided and washed and laundry facilities are nearby if the host is without their own washer. The average commuting time to the school building is an easy 60 minutes by bus, which is also the average commuting time for all San Francisco residents.

Kenmore residence
Housed in a remodelled traditional Victorian building, you can choose between staying in a single or twin room at this residence. Bathrooms are shared, and each room includes free bed linen and towels which are changed during the free weekly cleaning service. Students will also find a TV, microwave, mini fridge, desk and chair in every room. Laundry facilities for pay, 24-hour reception and free Wi-Fi in the common areas are all available, and half-board is provided. The residence is located just 25 minutes by bus or 45 minutes on foot from the language school.

Embassy San Francisco has a full range of activities and offers something literally every day of the week. Staff and teachers lead various activities daily, which include walking tours to parts of the city, as well as trips to museums, the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39, Alcatraz Island, and many other historical spots. The Center also offers an array of weekend trips as there is so much to see in this region of the United States. Weekend trips range from trips to Napa and Sonoma Valley which are famous for world-class wine, as well as trips to Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park, and Los Angeles/Hollywood. Silicon Valley is right in this city’s backyard, which is home to Google, Facebook, HP, and Apple. All activities can be found on the monthly activity calendar that is published and posted all over the school. Students can sign up directly with the school’s Student Services staff members.
