As a child, I wanted to learn Italian because we used to travel to Italy. As I planned an internship in this beautiful country, and after one semester of Italian classes, I decided to do a 2-week language course in Verona. The ESL agents answered all my questions at the preparatory stage of my trip and were present even on the Saturday before my departure. And there I went to the town that I knew since my childhood and that still charmed me. With its 260 000 inhabitants, the town has just the right size to offer many attractions while giving you the impression to be at home. The many discounts that you get with the student card of Scuola Idea Verona allow you to live la Dolce Vita and to relax while eating a pizza or a pasta dish, or attend an opera performance – while practicing you Italian skills. These are developed in a playful way by the committed language teachers, whom you’ll appreciate immediately. Thanks to the guided tours of one attraction per week you learn more about the town and the language. I was accommodated at the “Don Bosco” residence located near the school. One feels comfortable there thanks to the air-conditioned rooms and the private bathrooms. In the common area, one can spy on their Italian flat mates when they prepare their dishes or create one’s own specialties! As a conclusion, I am very happy to have made this trip as not only have I improved my language skills but I also met a lot of new friends.
