For an immersion in the daily life of the country’s culture, the best option is to live with a family in Medellin! You will receive a warm welcome from your hosts and you will be accommodated in a single room with half board. The other rooms of the accommodation (bathroom, living room, etc.) will be shared with the family. A permanent exchange will come out of this daily contact and you will improve your language skills on a daily basis. The families live on average 15 minutes away from the city centre and it will take you 20-30 minutes by foot to go to the school.
In the school building, you will live in a room with 4 beds with 3 other students of the same gender (ensuite bathroom). Besides the advantage of sparing you the commuting to school, this option offers the possibility to prepare your meals in the school’s kitchen.
The leisure programme that is offered by the school includes cultural visits, recreational activities and excursions to touristic sites. 5 hours of cultural activities (museums, concerts, natural parks, beaches, hikes, markets, etc.) per week are included in the package, as well as one hour of dancing and cooking lessons on a weekly basis. A guided tour of an area of Medellin will show you the incredible transformation undergone by your host city.
Be swept off your feet by the rhythm of salsa with other students or learn how to cook a Colombian dish – you will practice your Spanish in a laid-back environment and you will enjoy the many things there are to do in this city that will certainly dazzle you!
